I don't remember saying I was the youngest !!!!
Sue my eldest is the same age as your's 36, my middle one is 34 in October and my youngest is 25. My eldest grandchild is 16 and the youngest of 12 grandchildren is 18mths.

What did you buy Sue, can't wait to hear what you bought that has made you so poor.

Speak to you all later

At last I've managed to get back on here . It's taken me ages to read all the posts , you lot have been being really chatty ....lol

The tooth ache is subsiding thankfully , I even resorted to buying some babies teething gel !

Last night our middle daughter turned up ( just as I was thinking of posting ) , she was in a flap about getting her collage course work typed up . She has only just managed to return to education this September and is finding it exciting but very hard work . She had left Emily at home with her boyfriend and managed to get tons of writing done .
Today I had Emily whilst she went to her classes and I decided to " defragment " the PC ( as it's been running very slowly ) , it took over seven hours to defrag !!........but here I am at last .

I hope that you have all had good days / mornings today .

Sue ..... I've been wondering how your little Granddaughters hearing test went the other day , did she do ok ? I do hope so .

Hi Amanda
what a time you have had hun, a remedy for your pain, get a cotton bud soak it in whisky and place on the affending tooth, it will numb the pain, I have done this and I have also done it when my granddaughter had toothache, just repeat when needed.
I hope your daughter is enjoying her college cause, what is she studying.

The weather has been awfull here today, was going to go out to visit my Auntie in nursing home, pay my rent and then go and visit a friend but it was bucketing down so decided not to go anywhere. Hope tomorrow is fine and then I can do it all then instead.

Hello Amanda,
Glad the toothache is not so bad - I hate that. I need to register with another dentist, not very happy with the one I'm with, Teeth are a menace.

Your daughter is lucky to have you to help with her college work, I hope she does well there, and benefits from it in the long run.

Today I cleaned the cave of bat droppings - shot a bear for dinner - the Duchess can now have a new fur coat - was captured by ancient druids, but managed to escape, only to be attacked by a dragon who wanted to eat me - apart from that , it was a rather uneventful day here beyond the fringe.

Hi Diane,
You posted while I was typing - how is the painful hip today?

I see you'll use any excuse to open that whisky bottle lol :))

Good evening Diane and Tec .

Sorry to hear you've had a cancelled day Diane , it's awful when the rain ruins all a days plans . I hope you Aunt is getting on ok these days .

My daughter is studying " Social care " , I'm not sure if it's level two ( but I think it is ) , she is quite capable of doing really well even though she missed out on a lot of her education by having Emily at such a young age . It will do her no end of good to be back amongst her peers .

Tec ..... goodness me you do lead an exciting life , I hope the Druids went after the Dragon in the end and left you to go about your business ....lol

A fur coat, that really is not pc these days.

Good evening to everyone (phew covers up the fact that I can't remember who is here)

Hello everyone:-))

Diane - Amanda is a rum girl. Will that work:-))

Amanda - my Aimee's hearing test showed low hearing in one ear and not too bad in the other. Hopefully it's fluid and can be fixed with grommets. She sees the specialist next week so fingers crossed.

Tec - I don't believe the dragon part of the story.

Diane - just pulling your leg, petal:-)) I can't believe you have a daughter who's 36 and 12 grandchildren. You were a young mum and gran.

Hello Linda:-))

Diane Report 29 Sep 2010 21:46

Hi Tec, lol as you say any excuse to have a whisky, but it really does work try it next time you get toothache hun.
That cave of your's is an exiting place to live in but I think I'll stay in my yukky flat don't fancy fighting with the Druid's or a Dragon.

My Auntie seem's ok other than the fact she has slowed down a lot with her memory but at 93 I suppose that is to be expected. I can't believe she actually got over her illness as many people of her age would have struggled with just a chest infection ( tuff cooky ).

What does your daughter want to do when she has finished her study's ?

I'm going to disappear for a short time while I have my tea, back soon.

Ooh Diane is clever, she can make herself invisible when she wants to.

Good morning Sue. I hope Aimee gets sorted out without needing the grommets.

Good Evening Linda,

We don't observe PC rules here - it means something different here - Plaid Cymru the political party of Wales.
Talking of fur coats, I remember in the 60s the Duchess had a fake fur coat. We went to the zoo in November when my daughter was about five. Standing watching the lions when one turned its back towards OH and sprayed her fur coat, it was drenched. Being young and foolish I fell about laughing but OH was not amused.
She took the coat off, and nearly froze to death. The smell on the coat, even in the boot of the car was so awful we stopped and stuffed it into a roadside rubbish bin. She never had another one.

Hi Linda - her paediatrician is pretty sure that will be the answer.

Can you tell me what non-conformist means? I've found a handful of ancestors that fit into this category.

S x

I nearly choked on my coffee then Tec. I can imagine the Duchess wasn't amused.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 29 Sep 2010 21:55

non conformist means not Church of England, so it can be catholic, methodist, etc, or those funny Welsh ones as well

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 29 Sep 2010 21:56

Oh dear poor Duchess, but it did make me laugh as well

Good evening Linda : )

Sue , regarding Aimee's hearing , that doesn't sound to bad does it , maybe by the time she sees the specialist it will be even better , that's what happened with our Daisy a few months ago , a test detected she had very poor hearing in one ear , when she went to see a specialist a few weeks later , her hearing was spot on . I hope Aimee gets on ok : )

I'll give the Whisky a miss Diane , as I really cannot abide the taste . And Rum didn't work ( believe me I tried ....lol )
My daughter wants to study Psychology eventually .

i hate most spirits as well. The only one I like is vodka and that is because it doesn't really taste of anything

Amanda2003 Report 29 Sep 2010 22:01

LOL Tec .....does the Dutchess laugh about the incident now ?

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 29 Sep 2010 22:02

Amanda - it's not a major problem but with her speech being a little slow they want to make sure it's not her hearing that's causing the problem. The doctor doesn't want to put everything down to down's syndrome especially when she is doing so well in other areas.

Thanks for that Linda. I've heard some of those Welsh people go in for very funny religions. Like living in caves and hunting for their own food.

Good Morning Sue,
Sorry to make you choke on your coffee - not everyone has been peed on by a lion lol.

LindinHerriot counrty. "Those Funny Welsh ones" ? I'll have you know most of my maternal ancestors were Non-Conformist - which is where I inherited my somewhat non comformist characteristics :))

Thank you Linda ...... I suspect the " tooth " will be an ongoing saga until I pluck up the courage to ask for something to be done . It's an impacted wisdom tooth ( yes I know I'm knocking 50 but I've still got two of the wisdom teeth messing about ) , as long as it's been " quiet " the dentist has been happy to leave it well alone but this bout of pain has been the worst for years : (
