Amanda - The Duchess is still not amused by that incident, and hates me telling anyone - so I haven't told you :))

Sue I'm quite happy in my cave, and as we don't have many shops it's necessary to go a-hunting.

Diane yes I know whisky can help a painful tooth, but I'm not keen on the taste.

Tec.

I was thinking that Linda - scary isn't it.

Amanda - you will indeed need to have something done. I'd be like you - leaving it until there was no choice:-))

Nasty stutter you have there, Tec:-))

Sue ..... I hope she gets on ok when she sees the specialist . I wonder if they use the same sort of equipment in your country as they do here ? I was fascinated when Daisy had her " specialist " hearing test . She had to where ear phones and they gave her a set of bricks which she had to slot though holes as soon as she heard a noise , then they fire various pitches of sound down the ear phones , her little face was quite expressionless but her hands moved like lightening .....lol.....it all looked very " high tech " except for the battered bricks .

Tec sorry I didn't answer your question before, my hip isn't to bad as long as I don't sit in a chair the normal way, I have to sit on couch with a cushion under right hip and leg resting on the couch.

Good morning Sue, I know you were only pulling my leg hun but I wish you wouldn't it is painfull enough :))
my eldest child is the son who I don't speak to, he is 36, my daughter is the 34yr old, she has 3 daughter's the eldest son has 5 children and 3 step children and my youngest ( who live's with me ) has 1 child. Yes I was a young mum and because my daughter was a young mum too is why I was a young Nan.
Well Sue are you going to tell us what you bought that made you so poor?

Not sure what they do Amanda. My daughter said she did very well and did what she was asked. She asked for a teddy bear because she had a blood test the other week and was given a bear for being so good.

Bless her Sue : )) I'm glad they let her keep a teddy , it's horrid when little ones have to have blood tests : (

Diane , I'm glad to hear you have found a way to sit reasonably comfortably .

Diane I'm glad you've found a way to ease the pain in your hip - do you take painkillers.
I know men are not allowed to moan - but I'm in agony with my legs at the moment, and my knees are very painful when walking or going down steps or the stairs. There, I've moaned, now I'll shut up about it.

Isn't it amazing how we adapt to pain, Diane. I'm lucky not to suffer back pain but my OH does and he has found a way to sit comfortably when his back is playing up.

Well......I bought 2 good quality frying pans which were 60% off the original price and a 1/2 price casserole pan. All non-stick so no need to use fat. I also bought some bakeware for my daughter as she and the children often have baking sessions and she mentioned that she needed some cake tins etc. They were also 1/2 price. I then treated myself to a beautiful glass trifle dish which will be great at Christmas and a big white salad bowl. I have a lot of white serving platters and dishes so this will go with what I have. I came home very satisfied. The store also had a lot of manchester on special but as I don't need any sheets or towels there was no point in buying just because they were going cheap.

Persephone Report 29 Sep 2010 22:39

That reminds me, when I worked as a teller in the Post Office, I would give the children a stamp imprint on their hands. One little chap screamed there was no way he would have a stamp. It had shades of being to the dental nurse the day before.

I very kindly volunteered my daughter as a "guinea pig" re epilepsy drugs for our Medical School and she loved doing it. They gave her a gift each time she went.

Amanda - if you have enough rum you will definitely not notice your toothache. You won't notice much else either.

I don't know much about the Druids except my father was a member as was one of his brothers and their grandfather was before them. My father never went to a meeting he just paid his sub each year. When he turned 65 they gave him a birthday cheque and then a Christmas cheque and this happened every year. His brother who lived in a different area got nothing. Then one year he got a letter to say they were folding up and they sent him his share in a sizeable cheque and that there would be no more birthday cheques etc. But the Birthday cheques kept coming (not Christmas) and then when my father died I let them know and I received another rather large cheque. So I have the very highest regard for them... I also have a 24 carat gold thingee which is a small setsquare & compass or whatever their emblem is that was my Great Grandfathers. I suppose one could put it on a chain or a pin and wear it.

By the time I finish this everyone will have gone to bed and Sue will be away playing with her new pots and pans etc.

Haircut for me this arvo - so I will be the one with the shortback and sides on here tomorrow.

Oh and good evening and good morning all.

Amanda it is annoying me that I can't sit normally, I don't think it is my arthritis that is causeing the pain as it is only painfull when I'm sitting down or bending down, I though it might be sciatica but the pain is in the wrong place for that.

Linda it's great when you can disappear when you chose too lol.
