Persephone Report 30 Sep 2010 23:29

Domesticated swine may be pink, white, red, black, or black and white, depending on breed.

Cause God want them to be. He didn't think there was enough of pink animals

God, ran out of all the other colors.

Some domestic pigs look pink because their skin lacks pigment and is covered with very thin, light fur.

Skin color is determined by cells that contain pigment. Pig skin, like human skin, is colored by the pigment melanin. Skin shade depends on the amount of melanin.

Commonly farmed pig breeds have very little pigment and so have pink skin and light or white fur. Like light humans, they can suffer sunburn.

Tec - if that's what you want on your tombstone, I think it's a good idea. It shows you are a 'learned' type of person.

What's a Pelican crossing (Sue - do we have them here?).

I know we have Zebra crossings because they are striped like a tiger's stripes. There, see - I do know some things!

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 30 Sep 2010 23:56

I've never heard of Pelican crossings Berona - although we should have them 'cos we have lots of pelicans.

Diane - I'm glad you're feeling a little better. Let's hope it's not too bad for when you go back to work.

Goodnight Tec - sweet dreams♥

Sue - Thank you again for the recipe for banana bread. I now have three big bananas which have gone soft, so I'll be making the banana bread to-day.

I've got a recipe for Barra Brith - a Welsh bread. Some of the ladies on the Chat board were discussing it so I got the recipe and I'm going to give it a go. Linda says the cake/bread is very nice. Of course I'll have to send some to Tec to make sure it's as good as the Welsh make it☺

You can make him your official 'taster' - but don't send him too much because we have to look after the poor old man. He keeps telling us that he is old.
