Oh well, I was only trying to help, you will just have to move a bed downstairs and sleep there if he won't go upstairs

Brilliant that your son and his girlfriend met you at Windsor, and afterwards for dinner - that sounds like a good family get together.

Incidently, Her Majesty is currently at Balmoral, so you should ask for your money back.

It was a lovely weekend, it is such a shame that they both live so far away. You don't suppose they are trying to tell us something do you ????

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 3 Oct 2010 20:52

No I don't think they are telling you something - my daughter and her OH bought their first home in North London - then when grand daughter was school age they moved to Shropshire as they didn't want her to start school in London. They are still 100 miles from us, but that's not bad and achievable there and back in a day.

Maybe your children will move nearer one day, but it's all down to work really isn't it. My SIL commutes to Birmingham 60 miles every day.
Makes a long day.

OH is watching programs on BBC4 about the history of the chemical industry, Lot's of it is about ICI on Teesside where he used to work. The very old stuff in the last program was interesting I must say.

Good Evening Sandie , Tec and Linda .

Linda , I'm pleased to hear you got home safely and that you had a lovely time visiting with your family . Eva sounds adorable , it's lovely when they start to take notice of the things around them . I hope you SIL is feeling better soon and that you and OH haven't picked up his illness .

Berona , I was told years ago that my son is really colour blind , they reasoned he could only see the primary colours and all shades of in-between he was confused with , I also realised at the time that I could see different numbers to him on those card things you mentioned , some of mine where wrong as well .

OH has had a day of mending things today . The hot tap on our bath has dripped for years and years but today he took a blow torch to it ( as it was ceased up ) and has replaced the washer .
He also fitted new runners on the slide out table bit of the pc , it used to crash suddenly to the floor before , taking the keyboard with it ....lol....it's definitely much more sturdy now but I feel as if I've shrunk as the keyboard is much higher....lol

Good evening Amanda, I wonder why your OH is suddenly mending things? Maybe it is being stuck inside in the bad weather. Mine gets bored if he hasn't got something to do

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 3 Oct 2010 21:38

Hello Linda , you might be right there , he can't stand being stuck indoors and always has to find something to be doing .

I might disappear in a minute as Emily is here and has woken up , she is screaming blue murder ! I think its temper more than anything else but I might crack in a minute and have to go and get her down : (

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 3 Oct 2010 21:51

Fingers crossed , I think I've got away with it . She went from "screaming addabs blue murder " to " sing song misery " and now blissful quiet in quite a short space of time ! I daren't go in to cover her up yet as I know that little head will pop up like a jack-in-a box if I do ....lol......I'm getting to old for this lark !

S'mae Tec, Hi every one ,not understanding Welsh ( it means the same ! ) Not quite ,Smae pawb is for all of you.lol

Like Tec not fanatical about PC and Welsh, just like to 'keep my hand in ' so to speak.. or rather my tongue.lol
You men, you have a stair lift but would rather grumble and walk up ! :))
As long as you get exercise with Ianto that's good for both of you :)

Hubby's almost finished the one wall in the bathroom, not right to the floor or to the ceiling, as he has laminate floor to lay and we may have to have the ceiling redone. Like your hubby Amanda hubby gets bored if he hasn't got a 'project' to do.

Linda, so pleased you enjoyed your time with family and little Eve, you can miss so much when they are that age and you don't see them.
Have you thought of a webcam.?

Hello Sandie, we do have a webcam and use it to see her. She doesn't know us yet of course, but later on, hopefully it will keep us in her mind

Hello you chatty lot:-))

Linda - I can imagine it was difficult tearing yourself away from Eve and family. I love going to Hobart but it's getting increasingly difficult to leave as Aiden tells us he doesn't want us to go. I'm usually teary for a good bit of the trip.

Tec - I have a vision of you sitting very dignified on the stair-lift with Ianto on your lap. I'm not laughing....really:-))

Amanda - how's the tooth?

Sandie:-))

Thank you Tec. It's nice to be back. I should finish this job about the end of this week so maybe I'll get to come in more often.

Baby birds aren't babies any more. We've got a home for the 3 Ringnecks but we're going to keep the little lorikeet. That one is just a joy. We've called him Nuggles (cause he loves to snuggle up under your chin) and he has his own little cage which is on the side verandah just outside the living room window and he can see us and we can see him. He sits on his perch and watches TV. lol.

We're in spring coming into summer and we're getting all this rain. Most unseasonal for us. It's usually the driest and hottest part of the year. Not so this year. Still got blanket on the bed and it gets chilly even during the day. Wouldn't be chilly for most of you folk but I'm feeling a little cool and it's 25c. That's the difference between living near the equator and a long way from it.

Sorry to say goodbye for now. Got a few chores before I go to work. Won't be home till around 9pm tonight so won't wait till I get home.

Take care all and enjoy your day/night/evening, whatever it is wherever you are.

SueMaid Report 3 Oct 2010 22:29

Oh I missed you Pam - oh well I'll catch up next time you're on. Have a good day at work.

We're on a different time from Pam now as Queensland doesn't do daylight saving.

For the 3rd day it is raining and we're all feeling a bit water logged. OH actually fixed my washing machine - something that's needed to be done for ages. It was walking across the laundry floor everytime it was on the spin cycle. As was said earlier - when it's raining men get bored.

Linda - if I'd known you were driving home in bad weather I would've been up half the night worrying about you. I've been worrying all weekend anyway because my son has had to drive an hour in pouring rain down the coast to work.

I made barra brith yesterday as well as anzac biscuits and rock cakes - I too was bored:-))

Good Morning Sue ...I hope your having nicer weather today : ))

The tooth still isn't 100% , I'm still on the antibiotics . I think I might have to go back about it during the week when the tablets have run out , I'm getting fed up with it now : ((

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 3 Oct 2010 22:34

I hope the Barra Brith turned out well Sue.
I am shattered,so I am going to turn in early, all that toting the baby about has tired me out
Amanda has disappeared,so maybe the little one didn't go to sleep after all.

Goodnight everyone
