Will you be moving to Switzerland Tec, with your millions?

Berona Report 11 Oct 2010 22:50

I have one banana on my cereal each day (my diet) so I bought 10 last time and put five in the crisper drawer of the fridge. By the fifth day, the ones in the fridge were turning brown, so I took them out and put them in a bowl.

By the time they turned to black, I expected them to be soft but was surprised to find that they were quite firm - just nice, in fact...so I bought more to use NOW and left the others to soften. The lesson I learned was to take no notice of the colour of the skin - the fridge will make them go dark quicker - but to test the firmness before using! (or before throwing them away).

I'm back
I really enjoyed my tea,

PMSL, Perse do you really think I'd be talking about that kind of tart ( I'm a lady I think )

I use soft banana's for milk shake's or to mash on hot toast, don't have time to make banana bread.

Tec your OH's leg seem to be going out a lot lately.

Sue congratulation's to your son and I hope he does well in his future time in uni hun.

Hello Persey - hope you're well. How did work go.

It is sad Tec - I'm not an opera buff but there was a small tribute on the news this morning and she really had a spectacular voice. I don't think she's lived in Australia for years, Linda.

Sandie - that's great that your numbers thread has gone so well.

My mother used to slice bananas and put them in the custard or on top of a jelly. I used to get told off for trying to avoid them. I like sliced fresh banana with hot caramel custard poured over them but not sitting around in cold custard. And I just love banana bread...

This thread is very much food & alcohol (for Linda) orientated - have you noticed that.

Excuse me Perse, I have not had any alcohol for days and have not mentioned it tonight, I think you have me confused with Sandie

Sandie, she is such a prude!!!

Goodnight again

Tec,

Stayed or visited most places on the Welsh coast, from Chepstow to Flint and enjoyed all of them, but then I'm biased :)

Sue - that's very good news about your son. He obviously likes that kind of work or he wouldn't have done the course - and to be offered a position puts the icing on the cake. Well done!

Of course, we couldn't expect anything less, could we? After all, he is YOUR son!

Goodnight Linda - sweet dreams to you and your OH.

I love banana custard. It reminds me of when I was a little'un and when my lot were little. Our youngest still asks me to make it as well as rice pudding.

Berona - that's a lovely thing to say. Thank you.

Yes Diane, The Duchess's leg goes out once a week to the clinic and back - the other leg is quite jealous lol.

No Linda, I'm too poor to live in Switzerland and I can't yoddle either.

I wonder if Joan Sutherland could yodel, our Malvina Major loves country music and she can yodle beautifully and does so with the Topp Twins.

Sue, what does your son want do do in Chemistry following on from his studies at University? He has done very well and makes you feel good when they achieve their goals.
I am amazed how a lot of people know where they are going career wise where when I was at school you were sort of given a few choices and that was it - did not realise there was a wealth of opportunities out there.

Goodnight Linda,
sleep well - keep warm,
Tec.

Sandie - I've been around a little bit, but can't think of anywhere I'd rather live really, everything considered, it's a priviledge to live here. I hope that doesn't sound smug, it isn't meant to be.

Tec.

Good night Linda pleasant dream's.

Me too Sue, when I make it I slice the banana's and add them to the milk as it is heating up, after a while I remove banana's and start to add the custard mix to milk once it has thickened I put the banana's in the custard and wait for it to reach the right heat and then serve, all my children and grand-daughter's love it.

Linda I have a terrible habit of eating late, no wonder I'm getting bigger round the waiste.
