I've just read your post Linda - 94 is a good age but still sad. Your SIL is a good friend to have.

Yes Linda I agree:)

Whilst I know the family of my school mates mum, I used to stay with her on a Saturday night out, as I lived in the sticks, I know most of her family.

Maria's dad's funeral was last week, which I missed, but I only knew her immediate family, it will be good to meet up with her again after all these yrs:)

Sorry to hear about the deaths in your family:(

It's strange when you meet up with people you haven't seen for many years. I always think that the person is looking older and greyer and then I realise that I've aged too and they're probably thinking the same thing.

Do you all realise that we've got to and crept past the 25,000 posts.

They are sending some paramedics down Sue,so they will be the last out. They must be brave people to go down, in case they get stuck

OH wasn't close to this aunt, to be honest, he didn't like her all that much. I probably know more about her than he did because I did her family tree for her for her 90th birthday

Sue I have to admire the medic's who are going down as they are risking their live's to rescue the miner's, and they will be the last up as they are staying down there till the last miner is up. They said on the new's it will take about 15mins for each person to get to the surface.

Congratulations to your thread Sue - did you envisage it would get this far when you started it in July 2009.
We have shared some good laughs, some problems, and some awfully sad times too.

I hope the thread goes for another 25,000 posts.

Tec - I didn't think this thread would last for more than a day or so. I put it up on impulse because I noticed a few Aussies spread around the boards and I thought it would be fun.

I feel privileged to have met all of you - we have become good friends and as you said Tec we've seen each other through some good and bad times. Just as friends do. So thank you all for allowing me to get to know you - it has been my pleasure.

Cheeky madam...
I have just counted back and assuming I got it correct, it was me who made the 25,000th post, except that Tec deleted one, so if you don't count that one, it was you Sue, which would be fitting

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 12 Oct 2010 22:50

It was me? I actually thought it was probably Berona - I wouldn't have minded.
