I don't think he should tell your son that Amanda

My grand-daughter didn't loose her head of hair just went a bit baldy at the back Amanda, I have another pic of her when she was one and her fringe is in her eye's, I will see if I can put it on FB for you to see.

My grand children call me Nanny ( I wanted them to call me Nin ) but my daughter didn't want them too, her eldest call's me Nin when she want's a favour lol.

He would probably laugh but then again maybe he wouldn't ( new [parents can be very sensitive ) , so I''ll not repeat it to him ....lol

Tec ....how has Lanto been doing at getting up the stairs at night ? Was his refusal just a passing phase or is he still being reluctant ?

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 16 Oct 2010 22:42

The Duchess and I are know as Nain and Taid - pronounced Nine and Tide, that is Welsh for GrandMa and Grand dad.

Thought you would like to know that lol.

I was wondering that as well Amanda, of course the solution would be to turn the dining room into a bedroom and they could all sleep downstairs, that would help your creaking knees as well Tec.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 16 Oct 2010 22:45

Amanda - Ianto still takes a lot of persuation to get upstairs, but we get there in the end - what a pain lol.

That interesting Tec, i have never heard those names, but then I don't speak Welsh. We will be grandma and granddad, luckily the other grandparents wanted to be granny and grandpa,so there was no clash

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 16 Oct 2010 22:47

That's interesting Tec ...... I like to hear about the Welsh words : )

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 16 Oct 2010 22:49

I realise that eventually I will end up sleeping downstairs because of the dog, but he is worth it because he's been such a brilliant dog.

Problem is I also need to be upstairs to see what the Duchess is up to if she has a hypo - isn't life complicated lol.

Amanda2003 Report 16 Oct 2010 22:53

Maybe Linda had a good point there then Tec , I know it would be a lot of fuss just for a dog but is there any way you and the Dutchess could move your sleeping quarters downstairs if you had to ? You must feel very torn : (

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 16 Oct 2010 22:54

What you need is a baby alarm Tec, you could put the speaker bit by his basket downstairs and just keep talking to him when he whines lol

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 16 Oct 2010 22:56

His masters voice takes on a whole new aspect there Linda .....lol

Could you imagine poor Ianto gazing in confussion at the device on the wall ?

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 16 Oct 2010 22:59

There is no way in the world that OH would sleep downstairs because of the dog - she is the sane one here lol .

The baby alarm is a good idea Linda - but I think people have been taken away for less lol.

Good morning/evening all. Just got through reading all the posts since I was last on here. You've all been such a busy lot haven't you? Tec when you finished that painting, want an Aussie holiday? Come over here and paint my place. I'll provide food, drink and accommodation for you both. Have to make it after the wet season though. It's about to start.

Maybe not. You wouldn't be able to bring your dog with you and that would be cruel.

Anyone else want a holiday??

I like hearing the Welsh words too. My grandson in Hobart has Italian grandparents and they are Nonna and Nonno. When I call them by name Aiden insists that I get the pronunciation correct. My daughter's 3 call their other grandmother Nanna. My mother is called Nanna but Joel call her "the other Nanna":-))

Amanda I have uploaded more piccy's of grand daughter with all the hair onto FB.

Tec the thing's you do for a pet lol. You could alway's make a hologram of yourself and leave it downstair's lying on the couch lol.

Pamela Report 16 Oct 2010 23:09

Diane - how very clever of you. Do you think it would fool the dog? Don't they also recognise by smell?

Sue - I don't think this would be the place for you to have a relaxing time. We get plenty of rain, and it gets hot and I'm afraid your unwillingness to paint for you supper must, unfortunately, rule you out. lolol.

No takers then eh? Ah well. I'll probably end up having to do it myself and I'm hopeless at it.
