Hello Linda ......little one has been to my house for a visit today , she stayed asleep all the time she was here , even though it was a bit like bedlam , the older two Grandchildren where here , being loud as usual but none of it seemed to bother her .....lol

Good Evening Linda, and Amanda,

No we don't get the money back. I pay by Direct Debit monthly all year round, so during summer months the credit builds up, then drops rapidly during winter once the central heating goes on. Last year my gas consumption came to £1,300 over the year. That includes cooking and hot water of course.
We also have a coal fire in very cold weather, that is a little luxury, but like you Linda I just need to be warm so what it costs it costs.

Tec.

.Good Morning Sue, Wintry showers does sound awful I agree. Next weekend our clocks go back, so then it will feel like winter.

Might one ask who is Robert Downey Jnr? Yes I know I'm out of touch.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 17 Oct 2010 21:46

That is quite a lot Tec, we pay £90 a month for all the gas and electricity, so that is £1080 a year, we are normally a bit in credit, but last year it was so cold, it was just about right.

This is a modern house though and really well insulated,so it will be easier to keep warm

He's an American actor Tec. Every now and then he goes off the rails and then needs to go into rehab to clean himself up but I watched an interview with him last night and I enjoyed it. I thought he was funny and intelligent.

Amanda - it must have been lovely to have Bella in your home.

I don't like it when the clocks go back Tec , it throws me for at least a week . My pets are used to being fed at a certain time every afternoon ( especially big fat Pippin , he thinks every minute of the day is food time ....lol ) , it takes them awhile to adjust to the " new " time .

Yes Sue , it was lovely to have her visit , not that I got much of a look in , my eldest daughter is a baby hog if there is one about .....lol

I have mixed feelings about the long winter evenings, but it's rather cosy to close the curtains, put the heating on and relax, instead of feeling compelled to work in the garden, or other outside work. Also I can spend more time on my tree.

SueMaid Report 17 Oct 2010 22:03

We don't want you having to go into rehab. Tec. Although I think you'll be chased by young women - they seem to like the 'bad boy' image:-))

I love daylight saving. One of the things I love about a UK summer is the long evenings. The first time we visited I couldn't believe it was still light at 10pm. Even in the middle of summer it doesn't stay light after 8.30pm. Once the sun goes down it's dark whereas the UK stays light for a while longer.

Hello Sandie : )

Well you do have a good point there Tec , I don't mind the winter nights it's just when the initial change happens and the being out of sync that gets me .

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 17 Oct 2010 22:07

The only young women that would chase me Sue would have to be very desparate ones - I don't think any of them are that desparate lol.

I love to close the curtains and make it all cosy as well tec,
I have been doing quite a bit of work on my tree in the last week as well
Good evening Sandie

I fever realised that you wouldn't have light summer evenings Sue, for some reason, I just think of that being the case in the countries near the equator. Silly me

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 17 Oct 2010 22:13

Yes I know what you mean Amanda, it takes a few days to adjust. I just put up with my dog giving me quizzical looks - where's my dinner? he is the most greedy dog.

Noswaith Dda Sandie.
