Linda,

I always buy charity cards, but which ones do you sell ?.. Cards for good charity scheme ...is that the name ? and are the only available in tourist offices, cos we don't have one around here.

Only two hairs on your chin Sandie?? I have very blonde hair, not dyed, but my chinny hairs are dark as well, well they would be if I let them be there.

Ooh, that reminds me ,we have a woman in the town with a full grey beard, really long, several inches. She comes into the tourist office sometimes and it is incredibly difficult to treat her normally and not look at her beard when you are talking to her.

Hello Diane, all councils are closing their tourism departments down because tourism is not a statutory obligation,so they can say that they don't have any legal reason to run them

Good Evening Diane - How are you today?

I think private companies should take over the loos - but decent ones with proper modern hygenic facilities - some of the council loos are a disgrace, especially the free ones. People don't mind paying for decent facilities.

I'm not have you lot treating me merely as a convenience lol.

Tec.

There may be some of that stuff on the tops near here tomorrow Sandie. I shall stay put, but I must remember to go to the dentist tomorrow morning. It is just the normal check up and hygienist. I hate the hygienist and I get one of those every couple of months

Who wants a laugh?

The paint having dried in the bay window, I climbed up to rehang the curtains, that are very long, and heavy, on a track that swishes them closed or open on a cord.
Having finished, the Duchess who had not been in the room, said " I preffered the curtains the way they were"
When I went to look I'd hung them the wrong way round, so the linings were inside the room - had to do the whole fiddly job again lol.
I wondered why the track wasn't running easily.

Ask Persey about the NZ Longdrops. I still shudder when I think of them. Perched on the edge of a cliff - with the back wall of them facing space - that seems to be why they call them 'longdrops'.

Thanks Linda for that link re cards,

I do buy some for the British Heart Foundation, don't remember where I got them from, but would like to know where to get the ones for the Stroke Society.

My mum suffered several strokes and heart attacks over her last 10 yrs of her life...beastly things !

Good evening Brits and good morning Aussies - and Perse when she gets here.

Hope all of you and your OH's are well. We seem to have had some rain here overnight. My courtyard pavers are wet, although under the slatted garden seats is still dry, so there couldn't have been much of it. Overcast, but bright at the moment with a forecast of 21.

Sue - how did the interview go? I was going to try to see if I could find the radio station, until I realised I have brick buildings surrounding me and no antennae! Was it broadcast direct or recorded for later? Next time, tell me the name of the station and I'll see if I can get it.

My radios are all set to a Sydney station - 2CH - it's popular with the older generations. They play our kind of music and I often hear songs I haven't heard since I was at school! and they have one hour sessions of the big bands (Dorsey, Goodman, etc) and they bring back a lot of good memories. I always have to re-set the station when my son has worked on my car or I leave it with the mechanic. I'm not as fanatical as a friend of mine, though. Her son kept changing their radios to stations the young ones like, so she superglued the dial to 2CH.

Good Morning Berona,

How are you today?
I don't want to talk about long drops after fighting with those wretched curtains.

Linda I was going to ask you about that site, I forgot to make a note of it last time - thank you.

I'm fine, Linda. Hope you are too. We will have another hour at this time of day, once you go back to normal time. When will that be? However, for those of you who can be at your computers during the morning - we are ten hours ahead of you until you go back, then we will be eleven hours ahead. Great! all the more chatting time.
