I'm sorry Sandie - I thought Tec and I were the last ones standing, so I bid him goodnight and left. Don't stop posting. We'll all read it eventually - probably at different times, but that's how we communicate! i was last here at 10am here - midnight where you are. Now, it's 8pm here and 10am where you are, so anyone could pop in from either direction, at any time.
We didn't get the 21 degrees we were promised. In fact, it was ten degrees colder than yesterday was. Hopefully, tomorrow will be nicer.

Good morning, I am allowed to be on here now because i am back form the dentist. The hygienist had the usual dig around, I hate that but it is necessary. The dentist said that there is nothing wrong and that I have very healthy gums.

Hi Berona, as you have probably heard by now tomorrow does promise to be better. I heard the ABC TV weather presenter explain on the "Drive" radio program why it has been so cold. Of course, he might just have been trying to prove that it wasn't his fault. Also Berona, I don't listen to 2CH much. I quite like the music, even the older stuff, but the station is owned by the same bloke who owns 2GB- the employer of Jones, Laws, Wiltshire and other right wing nutters. It is nice to know that Bob R is still around. I remember him 50 years ago on 2SM, I think. People outside Sydney will not have a clue what we are talking about ! I had a note for $andie last night, but my computer decided to shut down while I was typing. And I lost it. Thank you, Dell (or Windows). I think I was just explaining that I have been on GR for a couple of years and on this thread for more than a year, but don't post very often. I do try to keep up to date and read all the posts. Often, when there is something I would like to respond to, the conversation has moved on. As for Facebook, I haven't signed on yet. I started then felt silly about signing up as Tom Darke or Fred Flintstone III or even Nicky Darke. The last is a pseudonym I used in a short story competition once. I didn't win. Maybe I should just join under my own name, watch what I give away and put up an image collected from the web as my photo. Triplets ! A lady I knew slightly had them as children 1 to 3, then went on to have two more singly. She had 5 children under 5. Of course she had an extended family to help, but I guess you would really be running about in the middle of the night. And in those days they didn't make strollers for three children let alone five. Amanda and Charlotte will possibly be very happy with just one at a time. Hello Tec, Perse, Sue, Pam, Diane and all the people I have temporarily forgotten. It's not deliberate, I just have problems remembering people.

Good morning Linda, you came on as I did. You and me both with the dentist. Perhaps it is the scraping away that keeps our gums healthy. Colin

Please don't use a common/popular name! Just put any name there and don't give any info away - don't set your security settings until after you have done that. Then, tell us who you are and WE'LL find YOU. Then, you set your security settings and add what info you want to add. I joined Friends Reunited. That's what started me using my maiden name because it is more for people who have lost touch since school/teenage and married names would not be recognised. I have found six classmates of 1946!!! However, it also has an instant message. I tried it a couple of times but not as good as this thread. I met one man whose name was Jesus Christ. I later tried to check him out and found twelve Jesus Christs and one Jesus H.Christ - all members and all different people.

Good afternoon everyone , well it's afternoon here ( and a nice sunny one but just a bit nippy ) , so good " whatever it is " where you are ....lol
I wasn't about last night as I've got that wretched tooth ache / abscess back and it's getting me down . I had peeped in , saw Linda mention dentist and groaned......lol ( glad your visit to your dentist went well Linda ).
I'm going to the Drs at 4pm in hopes of getting antibiotics again ( can't get into the dentist as all the emergency spots had been taken by the time I phoned this morning ) .
Colin , it would be lovely to " see" you if and when you venture onto Facebook , I used to be quite skeptical about it but if you get your security settings fixed as " Friends only " then it is quite a nice place to be .
Tec .....triplets !! Wow , they are going to be fun in the future ....lol....I'm so pleased to hear their Mum and Dad have them into a good routine already .
Berona , I was nursing the baby yesterday , it's so odd , you wait all that time for them and as soon as they arrive it's almost as if they have always been here , she has fitted into the family perfectly : )) ~~~~ to Diane , Sandie , Sue and everyone else .

Hi folks~~
Just been back thro the last 10 pages, couldn't remember which grandmother wanted to be known as Nin... should have remembered ,it was Di :) Reason for me bringing it up is, that after attending the funeral yesterday, one thing that made me smile was that grandchildren give their own names to their grandparents. Jane my friend used to call her's Daddo and Mammo, whilst her children in their speeches yesterday said Nan and Da, that's South Waliens for you ! My dau is the 3rd youngest grandchild on hubby's side of the family, she could say Nan, but where her cousins called her G,father Grandad ,she couldn't pronounce it and it came out as Du ( sounds like Duck without the CK), funny but he always remained as Du ,even her elder cousins began to call him that ! My g,father ( I only new the one ) was Grampa, I'm the youngest of all my cousins ,so he was always Grampa to me. Dau couldn't pronounce that for my Dad and he became Bampa and again the others followed suit.lol
Moral is, what ever you may like to be called it's the little ones that eventually choose it:)

Hi all
Colin lovely to see your post hun, hope all is well with you and your's. When your not here do you go on other site's, when I first came on this thread you posted more often and I wondered if you were busy elsewhere. Whatever it is good to see you now and again.
Yes Berona you have got me moving with my pic's on FB, don't bother much with other people on there except my grand daughter's and they can see the photo's anytime.
Hi Sandie, sorry I had to disappear and leave last night but I can't stay to late unless I am on my time off which is only about every 12wks as I'm up at 5-40am for work.
Amanda I hope you were able to get those antibiotic's off your Dr and that your tooth isn't to painfull for you now hun.

Good morning/evening all.
I won't be on too late this morning as it's 'Grandparents Day' at the twins preschool. They put on a morning tea and a little concert so that'll be fun.
Amanda - sorry your tooth is giving you grief again. Time for more than antibiotics I should think:-(

Good evening Diane , Good morning Sue .
Happy Grandparents day Sue ....how delightful : ) I hope you enjoy the little concert etc : ))
I have secured myself some antibiotics from the Dr , he didn't want to let me have them and he grumbled that I should have gone to the dentist ( even though I'd pointed out that for two days I've been trying to get an emergency appointment ) ....but he relented in the end and handed over a prescription .....I've only taken one tablet so far but can already feel the benefit ( thank God ) .

Good Morning/Evening Everyone,
Hope everyone is well, and that your tooth is not giving too much pain tonight Amanda.
I've been putting together an uplighter that I sent for on the internet. One of those so called "Mother & Child" gismos, uplight and reading light, my old one had died. The new one came in many pieces, in a box, with instructions - but I think the instructions belonged to something else lol. Anyway, after over an hour and a lot of muttering, it's now up and working. I wonder what the extra bits are for?............
Have fun at the Grandparents Day concert Sue.
Tec.

Amanda sorry to hear you are still having a problem with that tooth, don't you have a dentil hospital for emergency's.

Good evening Linda ...what film was showing tonight ?
Tec ....it sounds as if you have done well to get the light to shine at all , best keep the " spare " bits , you never know , you might need them ...lol
Diane ....no we don't have a dental hospital in this area , our surgery seems to have a handful ( if that ) of emergency appointments to dish out each morning , I just haven't been quick enough to get one . Hopefully these antibiotics will do the trick .
