It can be a little scary out there at times:-)) I venture out if a thread interests me otherwise I stay here where it's nice and warm. We can tease each other and have fun without worrying too much about offending anyone.

Yes it is Amanda, we can discuss anything at all without anyone turning nasty, it's great.

Well it's a wild night here, and I'm off to bed,
Enjoy your day Sue, Berona, and all Down Under,

Well, I don't know Sue. As we know, the Galah is one of our native parrots.. They can be taught to talk and will say a lot, but they just copy the noise - they have no idea of what they are saying - so that might be something for us to think about where Tec is concerned?

Well, hallelujah! The forecast was right! By 11am, the humidity was well up and I was picked up and taken to my son's place - a few miles from here. Whilst having our lunch we could hear thunder and heavy rain for about ten minutes, after which the temperature rose again, but not to the height it was before the rain.
I'm not sure how much rain came down here, as I was away, but it did look good to see the gardens looking like they do, so it must have been heavy enough to do some good for once!
Had a very nice lunch and sang "Happy Birthday" a few times.

Hello thread :-)

I am feeling a bit down at the moment:-( Tomorrow is the anniversary of my dear father leaving, it will be the 26th year and for some reason, I'm feeling I really need him right now. I'll go and have a long chat with him tomorrow.... Oh, how I wish....

Tec, You only just missed me, I went to watch a movie with my youngest on the TV, Transformers 2. It didn't finish till way after midnight, I quite enjoyed it:-)
Thank you for the cwtches, they mean so much to me right now:-)

Poor girl - I know it's not an easy time. You have your chat with your dad - he'll be listening and when you feel the sun on your face and the breeze through your hair it's your dad letting you know he's close by.

Go and have your chat Carole, I stand in the middle of the cemetery talking out loud to my parents, telling them all about how the family are doing, I even took a photo of little Eve with me to show them, the last time I went. I don't care how mad people think I am, if it helps me, or it helps you, then just go for it.

It's Saturday afternoon, 12.24 according to the World Clock and it's 9.22pm here in Qld - 10.22 in NSW. No one's here so I guess my timing is off.

I'll hang about for a bit and see if anyone pops in.

Cheers,
Pam. xx

I have popped in Pam,

It is a miserable;e day here, lots of rain overnight, but now it is just fine drizzle all of the time. We went down to the market, but I was glad to get back

Hello Linda. Nice to see you. Hope you're still there.

Finally we have a really nice day here and the promise of another one tomorrow. We've had lots of rain and we don't really need it. My place is like a jungle. haha. Probably because that's what it is.

I know I shall be talking to myself, but what's new?

Hello to Pam, Linda, Carole, and anyone who passes by.

Saturday afternoon here. I should be gainfully employed doing something, but I'm not. We also had a very wet night, today is sunshine and heavy showers. I had intended having a day in the garden planting bulbs, but it's too wet. Did manage to hack down some dead and dying foliage, and emptied the remains of the hanging baskets into the garden waste bin.

Daughter just phoned to say they are off to London for a few days, as it's school half term. They will do the art galleries and museums again. How I would love to do that. It would be so good to walk along the Embankment again after dark and see the river and all the old buildings lit up. Many years since I did that. Nostalgia creeps over me.

Well enough ramblings from this old guy who now seems to be overwhelmed with an acute attack of lazyitis - might have a look at my tree in an attempt to unearth those who will not be found.

Hope everyones having or had a good day/night.
Tec.

Hello Tec , it's the same here , something of a nothing day .

We walked the dogs earlier in the countryside but they all got the wind up as they heard a shot gun going off several times , usually it's only Milo that gets jelly legs when he is frightened but we cut the walk short as they all wanted to go back to the car ....lol

It is grey and miserable hear , I've been laying on the settee , listening to mellow music and contemplating fat balls ( as I can see the bird feeders in my Rowan tree as it is bereft of leaves almost ) .

Berona , pleased to hear your outing was enjoyable .

Carole , may your memories of your dear Dad give you a smile or two amongst the sadness .

I suspect that the elder two Grandchildren are about to decend so I'll catch everyone later x

Tecwyn Report 23 Oct 2010 20:06

Hi Amanda,

My dog is also afraid of the sound of a shotgun, as was his sister, strange as labs are bred as gundogs - they have a pheasant shoot regularly near me in season, and he always steers away from the sound of the guns.
Do you make your own fat balls?
I haven't fed the birds for a few days as we had another rat in the garden after the birdfood. I have one feeder suspended from a damson tree. I watched the rat climb the tree, just like a squirrel, and climb onto the feeder after the seed - what a cheek - anyway I've put poison down now.
I like all wildlife, but draw the line at rats. I think they come from the farm nearby, and the sheds where the sheep food is stored.

Tec.
