Goodnight Rach .......sweet dreams and come back soon , it's always good to have a new person arrive on here and it's a lovely friendly place to be : ))

And thanks to you, too, Sue. In your small way you have been a tower of strength to me. It's very hard when you're so far away and on your own. All the kids and people down south contacted me in the early days but they have now, for the most part, moved on with their busy lives and probably think I'm coping OK. They've always seen me as being the strong one emotionally. Let's face it, when you raise 4 children mostly alone you have to be. But it's not necessarily the way you're feeling beneath the brave front.

Goodnight Rach - be sure to come back again.

Amanda - don't get married until you're sure he's the one:-)))

Pam I am oblivious to Sue's jibes - just bide my time, she'll get it back when the opportunity arises lol:))

It's good the birds come back to feed and that you can see they are ok out there - did you say your OH was trying with Sulpher Crested Cockatoos? or did I dream that?

Please do come back Rach, you will always be made welcome

Sue (whispers) Amanda is not married. Is this allowed on our sober upright thread?

Pamela

Pamela Report 23 Oct 2010 23:25

Hey Tec, you've got to watch out when you go to the river which is only about 500 metres from my outside fence. There are crocs in there. One was sited not all that long ago. There are a couple of deep holes where the croc lives but no one knows which one it's in.

What amazes me is the local Aboriginals know it's there but they still fish and swim in the river. Amazing!!! They have no fear these people.

Yes, Tec. He got interested in them for a while but, thank goodness, has lost the urge to breed them now.

He's gone to Darwin for an extended period of time so I've got the birds here on my own.

Tec, you can look on the bright side, your rat could be a crocodile

Stop that Linda ! ....lol.....I'm a monumental pillar of uprightness apart from that .....lol

I'm off to bed now and hoping the sun might shine tomorrow ( fat chance but I live in belief that the weather forecast is usually wrong for our area ) .

Have a good night everyone and a good day to you daylighters : ))

Pamela Report 23 Oct 2010 23:33

Oh dear, Sue. I hope that not being married isn't a cause for chucking out. Cause I'd be in trouble, too. lol.

Pam we have specialist breeders here that bread Sulpher Crested, and others - they hand rear them for sale at around £3,000, I think that's about $6,000 Aus.

Good Morning Berona,
I was watching a dancing competition this evening and thought of you - I know you can tango - but how are you doing the splits?

Seems like I can still beat you, even though we were late starters. We had 34 great years and it would have been 53 years last April.

I don't think I will ever forget the spirit of Alison. Some of you might not have been posting, but she had the most wonderful attitude, even though we knew she worried about leaving her hubby and two boys. We could see each time she posted, that the end was getting closer, yet she joked and 'punned' whilst at the same time telling us of her latest treatment and how on her last trip to the specialist, she expected him to tell her the 'use by' date. She would send the odd pm's too and I really think she got a lot out of talking to us as she did right up until Christmas, then we heard nothing (which made us realise that it is handy for at least one or two to exchange email addresses).
Fortunately, her cousin was discovered on another genealogy site and she told us when Alison passed away early in February.

Goodnight Amanda, but I think the situation might have to be rectified, How exciting Sue, our first thread wedding. do we have to wear hats, I hate them, well except for my woolly winter one, but i don't think that would be quite the thing

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 23 Oct 2010 23:37

Goodnight Amanda - I do hope you and your OH have separate rooms:-)) We are very particular on here.

Linda - we would call you a 'dobber' here:-))

I think I would prefer a rat to a crocodile - if I had to have a preference. We've had the odd turtle wander into our garden, a couple of snakes and an echidna.

Goodnight Amanda,

Linda if that rat was a croc I'd move up the mountain lol.

I think I'll have to be off, too. It's midnight UK time; 9.30 NSW time and 8.30 Qld time so it's time I got some work done around here.

Still don't have my washing machine back so will have to take the floor mats from the bathroom to the laundromat and wash them. I want to have them nice and clean and fluffy for when we finish 'spring cleaning' the bathroom next weekend.

Take care all. Thanks again for the support. Lovely to see you all.

Tec - I have to admit that I have never been able to do the splits, but when I told my children that my mother could do them 'once upon a time' as she did a lot of gymnastics in her teens - she promptly went straight down, without any effort! She was over 70!.....and no after-effects next day, either!

Berona,

Are you evading my enquiry?

Bye Pam -
Good talking to you - take care.Tec.
