Have you been discussing our wedding plans with your OH, Amanda? I'm thinking that you should tell him just before the day - he may want a wedding out at sea.

Amand - We're all confused, it's the main criteria of the thread - refuge for the confused - or deranged lol.

Enya sounds good to me Tec and my niece is apparently learning to play the harp ( my brothers children are all very musical ) , so I should have the sounds covered one way or another .

If he wants a wedding out at sea Sue he will also need a very large megaphone to shout his vows out to me on the shore ! lol

On a family tree matter , I've just stumbled upon a very strange first name and am wondering if anyone can throw any light on it . The name is Nebo .

SueMaid Report 24 Oct 2010 22:13

Oh that's right - you're a scaredy cat at sea:-)) A woodland wedding it shall be.

The sun is struggling to come out this morning. Yesterday was cold, wet and miserable. I wish Spring would come - we get the odd sunny day just to show that a promise of days to come and then a few horrible days.

It's freezing cold in the garden - and if it wasn't dark, the sun would be shining, great big bright moon.

I've just googled the name Nebo and it appears to be a Babylonian God of wisdom and the inventor of writing. "Hebrew name for Babylonian god of knowledge, literature, and agriculture."

In a nut shell Sue : ))

I hope your Spring / Summer isn't going to be the same sort of let down as ours was this year . We have had a peculiar day today , weather wise , gloomy and wet , then some nice sunshine , then a small hail storm , then sun again ...... it was most off putting .
We went to feed the ducks and actually spotted one tiny little one amongst the adults , I don't think the poor little thing will survive the winter months but you never know .

Amanda2003 Report 24 Oct 2010 22:22

I've just searched on Ancestry with just the name Nebo , it seems it isn't as uncommon as I'd assumed .
This particular Nebo must fit in my tree somewhere as he is a Clissett and they are all connected in some way , just wish I could find out how ! .....lol

A Babylonian God hey , that's interesting .

I am often to be found wandering around in the woods, so your wedding sounds fine to me Amanda. Will we eat wild mushrooms and berries at the wedding breakfast?

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 24 Oct 2010 22:31

We certainly will Linda : ) I rather imagine it all being like a scene from a " Mid summer Nights Dream " ....but without my OH having a Donkeys head .

I have the name Jabez in my family tree. The name is biblical and means 'sorrow' in Hebrew. I think my 3 x great grandfather Jabez brought some sorrow to his wife. He is rarely on a census with her and the family but managed to father around 8 children with her. She died in Leeds and he promptly married again. He was a travelling minister:-))

I have some Jabez's in my tree and Job's of course

Ooh maybe we are related Sue

Amanda, I hope you know your mushrooms, we don't want to eat any of those funny ones

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 24 Oct 2010 22:37

Sue.....Jabez sounds most interesting . Did you manage to find out where he was when he wasn't home with his wife and family ?

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 24 Oct 2010 22:38

Ah, maybe he was a bigamist and was living a double life with my family

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 24 Oct 2010 22:38

I've heard on the news about you wandering about the woods, Linda. Very embarrassing for your family.

I've found Jabez in lodgings all over the place including Wales. His wife Eliza obviously agreed to be with him in Leeds where she died. The family stayed there but Jabez promptly went off back to Bristol where they were originally from, remarried and died at the ripe old age of 85. I don't like him very much.

Linda , I have a pocket book of Fungi , I'll slip it into my dress pocket on the day , couldn't be doing with eating anything suspect......lol

I have a few Moses names ( Clissetts again ) but none of them performed any miracles to my knowledge ...lol

I didn't know Little Red Riding Hood lived in Yorkshire, should be careful with all those big bad wolves around.

Oh no Amanda, you would need to be careful what you ate, you wouldn't want to spoil your wedding night lol
