The start of sunny day here - hopefully it will last. I could've slept longer this morning but the council decided this was the morning to do some roadworks around the corner from us. We're hoping that they don't put in more speed-humps - they are so annoying on back streets. Add to that our son getting up for work and trying so hard to be quiet - I thought I might as well get up.

In other word's you have been on the go none stop.
Now it is time to put your feet up and relax.
I did a load of ironing when I got home from work but after standing for over an hour I said to myself I'll do the rest later and took myself off to bed for 2hrs. Now I'm sitting here talking and I keep looking at the rest of the ironing which consist of 2 3/4 length coat's and 4 blouses and saying to myself I must do them before I go to bed ( hopefully ) lol.

I hate those speed bump's, not good for the back when you go over them, and I hate it even more when noisey worker's wake you up, GGRRR

You have been busy Linda. Pickled beetroot - yum.

I talk to my dad and sometimes shed a few quiet tears but there is a gentleman who often visits when I do and he openly sheds tears for his wife. One day I led him to a seat nearby as he was quite distressed - he had lost his wife only a few weeks before. It was very sad.

There are all sorts of vehicles turning up for the roadworks - I can't imagine what they're doing.

Just heard on the new's that there have been packages of explosives found on airline's in Britain and Dubai heading for US and originating from Yeman.

Sorry I missed you Linda, Tec and Diane. When I started to type, only Sue was there. I have a habit writing a post, then forgetting to 'submit' it. By the time I do, there are half a dozen new posts after the one I am answering.

Tec I hope your chimney stack is safe hun, the high wind's love chimney stack's. We had it very windy here early hrs this morning ( so I was told by employer's mum ) but I was well away in dream land so didn't hear it.

That's a worry, Diane - the explosives I mean not the ironing.

Hi Berona - if it stays as it is now I'll be gardening. The rain we've had has made the grass nice and green and the plants are growing beautifully - and so are the weeds. OH is thrilled with his tomato plants and the last of the caulis and cabbages but the snails are having a party in the veg garden at the moment.

I also heard that news at the same time that you did, Diane. Earlier this week, I saw that France was being threatened because of the law they passed banning the burka.

I don't understand the way some people think. If I didn't like the laws of a country, I just wouldn't go there! I wouldn't expect to go there and tell them they should change their laws. Am I alone in my thinking?

It isn't to do with logic Berona, it is to do with religion and that has had a lot to answer for throughout history

To-day I am being taken out for lunch by son and his wife. They have done this before and it has always been a fabulous restaurant with lovely views and scrumptious food, so I am looking forward to it. The only condition I put on it was 'no stairs'. Elevators/escalators OK. I'm sure they will find a place - I think they must know them all by now.

Oh I forgot it is Saturday morning for you Berona. I hope that you are wearing a posh frock in honour of the occasion and all your best dazzling jewellery

I'm sure you are going to have a lovely lunch Berona - your family certainly love to spoil you.

My daughter took my mum out for lunch yesterday and they had a lovely time. I'm not invited - it's their time.
