I'm back - but everyone is going. I only had to leave some blood with the Dr for a monthly check to make sure my medication is the correct dosage.

Came straight home, hoping to get back to you all - but I wasn't early enough. Oh well, I'll talk to you later. I will pop in at various time throughout the day. In case I don't catch you - sleep well or have a good day!

I was hoping that Colin might join us. He knows a lot more about Sydney than I do and might be able to answer a question which has popped up on the Home & Away thread.

The keen fans on that thread have been asking what kind of birds they can hear in the caravan park/bush in 'Summer Bay'. It does seem like the sounds are real and not sound-effects.

I have been told that the filming takes place in Palm Beach, so perhaps someone can tell us what kind of birds live there? We have the Galahs here where I am and I have seen a lot of Red Rozellas in the Hills district and Sulphur Crested Cockatoos in the Parramatta/Northmead area, and Lorikeets in the Hornsby area - but that doesn't mean they don't live elsewhere too. I would have thought that the bush 'sounds' belonged to a variety of perhaps smaller birds particularly the noisy Miners - they seem to be everywhere.
Can anyone help with this?

Hello everyone...

Linda, Condolences to you, I'm so sorry to hear your sad news.
Sending you some ((((((hugs)))))) too xxx

Berona, I don't watch H & A, I once did many years ago.
At a guess, I would say the birds in question could be Cockatoo's, we get a lot of white cockatoos around here. They are normally in a large flock and like the Galah's sit in the fields eating what ever it is those birds eat, lol:-)) They can be very noisy at times, I quite like the noisiness!!
I also love the noises the magpies make, especially early in the morning. They must be calling to each other.

Tomorrow is Melbourne Cup Day, so its a holiday for us here. Ive only been to it once, its a great day out:-))
My daughter and I intend spending the day going for a drive to Daylesford, she needs to build her driving hours up. She needs 120 hours driving before she can go for her license. So far she has just over 30 hours. Its next September, when she turns 18, that she can get her drivers license.

I'm off to wash the dinner dishes, we had home made chicken schnitzels and potato bake, very yummy!!

ttfn, Carole xxx

Linda, I have just read back over the posts and saw yours. I'm so sorry you feel down and don't feel like doing much. When you lose people you have known a long time and especially if their loss seems senseless and a waste of life, it does make you ask questions.

I hope you can brighten up soon. We are all here and want to help you if we can.

Good Evening Amanda,

I hope you've had a day of inspiration, and enchantment.

What news of the colourful tv - has it died, or was it merely having a tantrum? I hope normal service has resumed.

Tec.

Good evening Tec , I wouldn't put my day down as inspirational or enchanting ( it was the usual drudge of the shopping day at As*a ) having said that I did grasp the odd whimsical moment looking at the Autumn leaves drifting to the ground along the road side : )

The TV has indeed died a death and is now languishing in the council recycling centre , it was one of those whopping great heavy things and was no easy item to wrestle into the car but we managed .

OH is very happy ( in fact I've not heard a murmur from him all evening ) as he is glued , open mouthed , to his new " bigger than ever " screen .....lol

Good morning/evening from a wet, windy and cold part of Australia. Spring.......where are you. Some of my garden flowers are sodden and spoiled by the rain. The good news is is that NSW is officially out of drought.

I babysat Drew for a couple of hours yesterday - poor little fellow was sent home from school with an upset tummy.

Linda, if you don't feel like chatting but look in I hope you are feeling a little better today.

Carole - I hope your princess has a good day driving. Daylesford is a lovely place. Enjoy yourselves.

Good morning to you Sue and sorry to hear it's another soggy one for you : (

It's only a matter of time before your TV goes up the creek ( they don't seem to last long these days ) , your poor OH , it can't be nice for him to have TV envy ! lol

My OH is pleased as punch , we don't often splash out on " big " items but he is very good at finding the bargains to be had , he did well getting this one and only visited two shops before making his purchase .

Sue ..... I hope little Drew is feeling a bit better now . It's not nice when they feel poorly . There has been a sicky bug going round and round hereabouts , William and Daisy have been down with it twice in the last three weeks : ((

Hello and see you later Diane:-)) I'm glad you have an appointment even if it isn't till nearly Christmas. Sometimes you feel better just knowing you have an appointment.

Amanda we only have a small lounge room so we couldn't have a big telly anyway so OH can just dream on:-))

I'm sure Drew will feel better today - kids bounce back pretty quickly. Of course the twins are bound to get it - one at a time.

Amanda2003 Report 1 Nov 2010 21:22

Sue ....the twins might both get it at the same time , then your daughter will have the unenviable task of dealing with synchronized vomiting ( I really hope she doesn't have to ) .
I remember a sleepless night , years ago , when my two youngest ( then about five and seven ) where both being sick all night , I ended up on a make shift bed on the floor between them , dozing between the bouts of sick ......it was a long night ! The " joys " of Motherhood.....lol

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 1 Nov 2010 21:36

Yes I can well remember nights like that:-)) That's why we have our children young - we don't have the energy now.

Hello everone! Not many here yet? Are they all sleeping late? If it's getting cold over there, I don't blame them.

We had some light rain overnight and the sun is shining at the moment with patchy clouds. Forecast is for 'possible' showers until next weekend. I suppose that is a safe forecast!
