Good morning Berona
I am being bombarded with emails offering me an extra month free etc to the FMP.au site. i used the same email address and the same password as I do for the UK site. It recognises me, but when I try to look at he records, it directs me to the subscription page. It doesn't seem to cost much, but there are not that many records on there compared to the UK site.

Good morning Berona - hope you are well.

Tec - the brand new Australian government and the clergy encouraged bigamous marriages as they didn't want the population to consist of illegitimate children by parents 'living in sin'. Does that make sense? Not to me.

I'm sitting on my hands because of the mob mentality that sometimes exists on here. I'm in a irritable mood and just may say something I shouldn't..........oops too late:-))

I think she thinks we are boring old fogies Tec, so is going off seeking excitement elsewhere

Berona Report 3 Nov 2010 22:33

At least our records only go back a couple of hundred years. I've been told that there was a shotage of clergy, so they had a 'travelling clergyman'. He covered such a vast territory that it took a long time between visits to a town - so he conducted the marriage ceremony for the parents, followed by baptism of their children. Package Deal!!
We had no white people here until 1788 so although our records are a bit 'sketchy' for most of the first hundred years, our records fell into line with the British way of recording, so that one hundred years is the only time we should have problems with - not like we have with the British records which go back a lot further than that.

*ignoring Linda*

Berona - I can well remember my ex BIL telling me that his family were Aussie through and through. I told him that Smith was not an Aboriginal name:-)) It appeared years later that he found that most of his maternal line were Irish and his paternal family Welsh.

I have a lot of Methodists in my tree Berona and there are problems with them because they had the same sort of travelling ministers who didn't record things

Tecwyn

Good evening/ morning all

Tec I have been trying my welsh alpherbet, finding it hard to get my head around it lol, would be a lot easier if I had some-one to hear saying it.
I think I might see if I can find a welsh speaking tape.

Well I am looking forward to Sunday evening as I am going to see Michael Flatley performing Lord of the dance at the Echo Arena, I saw him in 1996 at the Empire and thoroughly enjoyed it and as it is going to be the last chance to see him dance, my daughter and youngest son have paid for my ticket as an early Xmas present. I am going with youngest son and eldest grand-daughter and we are meeting up with my friend's.
