Blame Sue - it's all her fault. She mentioned another thread and since I haven't seen a contentious thread for a while, I couldn't resist looking at it. It's certainly had a lot of posts added since I saw it yesterday, but as with most of those threads - it got personal.

I couldn't add to it. Nobody would believe how dumb I was at the age of 13. Didn't know the meaning of s*x until I was told at 14 - then wouldn't believe it! Since I never found myself in a 'tight' situation, nor had such problems with my family, I'm not qualified to give an opinion and would no doubt say the wrong thing and get stomped on!

Thanks for your input re the birds, Colin. I had forgotten those two species myself - and of course - the Cicardas!! Once they get droning en masse, they can be deafening!

Hello Tec, I don't know about exotic. Now up where Pamela lives they have some real strange ones.
British birds seem exotic to me, too, especially the variety. A bird that is increasingly adapting to life in the city is the Australian white ibis. It normally lived inland but apparently likes the grubs and other crawlies in the grass in the city parks. About the size of a small hen, it looks a bit ungainly with it's long, curved beak. It tends to roost in trees. But in flight it is somehow graceful.
Concert tickets seem fairly expensive, but I guess there are a lot of people that have to be paid. Although not wealthy, Denise and I budget for our season tickets. Then, with no dependants we can afford to splash out just a bit.
When I started typing it was 23:30, so there will probably be more posts on the board. I am going back to watch a DVD of the old Rumpole of the Bailey. Usually gentle enough but this one looks like a bit nasty. It has a dead body in it.
Good night all up top and enjoy the day down under.
Colin

Before I go. Hello Berona. The insects round here at home are so persistent taht I am beginning to think its not cicardas. I think it could be tinnitus. If so, at least it's not an annoying whistle.

Missed you again Colin :)

We posted at the same time. lol

Yes the weather doesn't help with the 'blues'.
I hate the wind, can hear that something has just blown over outside..will go and investigate after typing.
We used to have a 'back central heating boiler' behind our gas fire in the lounge which had an open chimney, and when it was windy the wind used to howl down and we couldn't hear the tele.We now have a combi C H boiler in the kitchen, new fire in the lounge,so no flue for the wind to howl down:) but it is noisy tonight. We live in an exposed high up area, and I can often hear the roof tiles rattling,on a really bad night we have had a dozen or more tiles off. A few yrs ago one landed on the car, just missing my hubby carrying my dau to the car, by inches!!

Must go and investigate what is blowing around outside cos it's making one he*l of a noise.

Have a good day..don't work too hard:)

Well the wind had blown 2 of my patio chairs from one side to the other and 'folded them up' quite nicely..couldn't see what damage was done so just put one on top of the other in a more sheltered area and weighted them down, also a set of aluminium ladders were 'flying' around the path.
Have moved the obelisks cos they could be the next to go !!!
Goodnight

Hi to everyone~~~

Linda,~~
No I'm still here.lol
Still wet and windy, but been for my morning walk in the rain, and when I got back I had wet feet.. Yes quite reasonable you may think, but my fav walking boots waterproofed, have sprung a leak in the sole. RIP boots:(
I knew they were getting to their sell by date, so have to dig out my 2nd favs til I can get a new pair:)

Diane~~
All I've heard re my wrist/ fingers after being referred by the Dr ages ago in July I think, is a letter from the hosp dated the 30.9.10 stating I had now been put on the waiting list, which is currently running at over 4months !
Mustn't grumble there are many much worse off than myself.
I do get hubby to peel the potatoes tho.lol
Can you have anything done about your hip ?

Berona~~~~
I think I know the thread you mentioned to which Sue may have added:)
I didn't , but was itching to.lol
I spoke up against a Wum a few days ago, who was spoiling an otherwise good thread, and subsequently received 6 abusive pms from the Wum.
Looks as if she has been banned again ( has several accounts so I'm told) cos her pm's to me now show up as 'errors'.

Speak to you all later have a good day or a good sleep:))

Good evening/ morning all

Sandie we got the wind too last night but not as strong as you, as for the hip hun until I see specialist I won't know if the pain is caused from hip joint or somewhere else in the leg, all I know is by the time I get home from work which takes me about 10mins the pain is really bad from hip area right down to the ankle. Does that mean 4mths before treatment or just to see specialist to confirm what the problem is.

Hi Linda hope all is well with you today and the weather hasn't been to bad in your area.

Diane

I'm neither ecstatic or euphoric - it's darn miserable again outside and I'm getting fed up with it.
