Goodnight Diane,
sleep well if you can, keep warm.

Sandie CoalHouse was much better - I don't think the families this time were well chosen.

Sorry Berona - nearly missed your post. I've bought hobnobs from Woolworths and we call jammy dodgers raspberry shortcakes - Arnotts I think.

Hellooooo

Just thought time I moooooooooved back on to this thread.

Good time had by all whilst away. Sorry I missed your birthday cake Berona - Linda did a spiffing job of making that - we did have a dessert called 'Nana's cake tin" so I had a chocolate truffle in your honour.

We saw lots of cows, steers and lots and lots of spring lambs - amazing how many twin lambs there were. Once upon a time this would be a rarity.

Had to go back to where himself was born in Hunterville.

Saturday we went to a large cemetery where his gr grandparents are buried - it was so huge we had to go back home and look it all up on the net and even then were only sort of guided to the area by the death date. But after much wandering around we did find the pair of them and an uncle. I was worried it might be one we couldn't read but it was made of better stuff not concrete and was very clear, he wiped off a small bit of lichen and it was as good as new.

I will catch up with you all later hope you are all well...

cheers Persey ((xx))

Berona~~~

I hate ironing, I'm assuming you're referring to me lol

So I leave it to the last possible minute :))))

It takes me 5 mins to iron a shirt ( have timed myself )

I find plenty of other more interesting thing to do thro the day :)))

Hello Sandie

I have never timed myself ironing - maybe I should.
Just noticed when I started to type before it was page 1869 and by the time I finished I see you are not all in bed yet. Then I realised the time has changed and I am 13 hours ahead again.

Hello Persey,

Good to see you,

Sounds like you had a good time away. Almost all the ewes here have twins now, it's now rare to see a single lamb.

Gravestones - I was given a tip how to read old worn ones. Spray shaving foam over the words, wipe off the excess with a squeegee, and the letters are highlighted. This doen not harm the stone in any way, and the foam rapidly disappears.

Tec - Be a devil - buy two!

Hello Perse - wondered where you were. Sounds interesting. I've always liked roaming around graveyards and it's great when you find your ancestors.

Sandie - I suppose you have a point there. Don't allow ironing to interrupt your day!!!

Persephone

Persephone Report 4 Nov 2010 23:15

Thanks for the tip Tec

Makes note to self - take a spray can of shaving foam with you at all times.

I love stopping at cemeteries - when we drive past an old road and there is a sign with cemetery - I inform the driver - does not always work though.

I am going cemeterying on Monday morning before lunch with my friend who lives out near where a lot of my forebears are buried.

Done and dusted Berona:))

MIL used to iron everything ,towels ,underwear, which I would never dream of doing, the secret is to get the clothes off the line and flatten them with your hands , put them in the basket until needed.
I sometimes do a 'big iron ' but I don't like creased shirts and we don't have too much wardrobe space.

Back on the lappy in a bit.

I like old graveyards too - there is a Quaker cemetry near here, very interesting. There was a concentration of Quakers here until their persecution around 1666.
