Hello Diane, how are you today?

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 9 Nov 2010 22:21

lol Amanda, I hope you were not venting your anger on the work tops instead of your OH.

Years ago, I lifted a very hot tin out of the oven and had to drop it on the work top, it burnt it, so badly that we had to replace the whole thing

Amanda - I'd love to know what made you so angry you hit your kitchen bench hard enough to damage it:-))

Hi Diane - hope you are well.

Linda ..... it wasn't my OH that was the cause of the angst , it was his Mother ! ......he shoved her out of the door right sharpish when I blew .....lol

Good job you didn't burn yourself with the hot tin , it sounds frightful .

Just a quick call in. I am supposed to be working.
The storms the other night did not affect me directly. Terrific lightning show and thunder. I had an engagement in the city, and rather than getting the bus or train in which is what I usually do I drove in and parked at the underground car park attached to the venue.
When I emerged at just after nine, the rain was sheeting down and I was very glad I had parked there, even at the cost of 32 dollars (plus a surcharge for using a Visa card). As I drove west the rain eased and stopped.
Hello Sue, Diane, Amanda, Linda, Berona, Tec and whoever else looks in. I wonder whether Charles just put his TTF on the wrong board?

Hi Colin - I wondered if he did too. Not a very polite way to ask for help if that's the case.

I'm glad the storms didn't cause you too much trouble although I would hate to have driven in the rain.

Hello Colin ..... I'm pleased to hear the storms didn't disrupt you to much .

Berona

Amanda - I couldn't imagine you having one of those fits - you're too nice.

Linda - Hope it didn't spoil your Chrismas Dinner - but I'll bet it did!

Diane Report 9 Nov 2010 22:37

Linda I don't envy you with having to deal with all that wood dust, and hope you soon get thing's back to normal.

Hi Amanda, was it a berzerk moment because some-one had upset you, if so I promise I shall get out of your way if it happen's again lol.

I only worked till 10am this morning instead of 1pm, my hip and leg was giving me a lot of trouble so I came home and went to bed to rest, I got up at 1pm and watched the tv until 3pm then went and visited my Aunt who is now back at the nurseing home. So in answer to your question not too good at the moment. I am considering asking my Dr if there is any chance of having Morphine patches, I know they are strong but if I'm to get through the next 6wks till my appointment I am going to need something stronger than the pain killer's I am currantly takeing.

Hello Colin. Having read this week that the Queen has joined Facebook, I can't help wondering who 'Charles' is????

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 9 Nov 2010 22:40

The patches come in different strengths Diane,so you can get a fairly low dose one. They would probably try to give you liquid Oromorph first, but that wears off and you end up waiting for the next dose

I don't envy you having to drive in that bad rain Colin, I hate it when you just can't see

Mmmmm I wonder who he is too Berona

Hi Tec how are you today, keeping warm I hope and not doing anymore gutter cleaning.

Morning Sue, glad you had a nice time with your daughter and the twin's, we all have are ( I'm soft touch ) were the grand children are concerned.

Hi Colin hope your not working to hard hun, enjoy your day.

Amanda2003 Report 9 Nov 2010 22:45

Berona .....I can't imagine me having that sort of fit either .....lol.....but I did , most out of character for me but I was dealing with an awful amount of stress at the time ( nursing my Mum who had terminal cancer ) and OH 's Mum just pushed me over the edge ......the out burst only lasted a few seconds but it was quite scary at the time .

Diane , I'm so sorry to hear that you are in that much pain that you feel the need to ask for such powerful pain killers . Isn't there any way you can do lighter duties for your employer , I'm sure she must be distressed that you are feeling so bad .

Hello Colin - I should think an underground car park to be the best place in such wild weather, but it's very expensive isn't?
Although, my daughter stayed in a London hotel recently, and they were charging £25 a day even for guests to use their car park.

Hi Diane, I am very sorry to hear your hip is obviously giving you such trouble now - hope your GP can prescribe something that really helps you.

Tec.

Diane Report 9 Nov 2010 22:49

Linda I thought of patches because I think they release pain relief gradually over a set amount of time ( correct me if I'm wrong ) a bit like nicotine patches.

SueMaid Report 9 Nov 2010 22:49

Diane - it's awful that you are in so much pain. I wish your appointment was sooner - can't your GP push for an earlier one?

Amanda - it's amazing what we do in times of stress. I remember yelling at my sister in the corridor of the hospital when my father was very ill. Mind you - if I told you what she said you'd understand why I was so upset and angry.

That is how the patches work Diane, on low levels you should be fine, but if the dose id too high you can hallicinate
