Diane - I didn't answer your question, excuse me. I am fine thank you for asking, and no I wasn't hanging out of any windows today - much too cold.
Tec.

Thank's Tec and Amanda

Amanda I can hun and when it is bad she let's me rest until the pain has eased of. The most time the pain is there is walking to work and home again and if I stand for any length of time, I have got a taxi quite a lot to work recently but I can't afford to keep paying for taxi's.

Diane .....yes , those patches work on a time release system . A chap who lives up the road was put on them for his neck pain , they did work ( but he was a bit spaced out ) , unfortunatly after a few weeks he developed an allergy to them ( skin itching etc ) and had to stop being on them .
The thing with pain , is that it is there for a reason and masking it completely can make the problem worse : (( I do hope you can find some solution and you definitely ought to go back to your GP and see if he can get you an earlier appointment at the hospital .

Sue .....stress is horrid , I'm sure you shouted at your sister for good reason x

Diane

Diane Report 9 Nov 2010 23:06

Linda I don't want that to happen:(, the other option would be an injection but I don't think Dr would agree to that until it was known why I am having the pain.

Sue once the Dr has made the referal I don't think they can do anything about an earlier appointment, but I think I can ring up the department and ask if there is any chance of an earlier one, I don't really know as I haven't been in this situation before. I think when I come home from work tomorrow I will give the number on my appointment letter a ring and see what they can do.

Diane, the number on the appointment letter will just be the appointments office and they won't be able to do anything. Try ringing the main number for the hospital and asking to speak to the consultants secretary (assuming you know the consultants name). If you can get through to the secretary, you can explain the problem and offer to take up any earlier cancellation. I always used to speak to the secretary's when I had problems with mums appaointments

What would happen if you turned up at the emergency centre and told them how much pain you were in? Would they investigate it then and there?

Good night Amanda - sweet dreams.

Hi Perse. That's OK. I found the thread on page 3 yesterday and I didn't mind - it's the only way I'll ever find myself on page 3.

I was surprised to see heavy rain in the City of Sydney on the TV this evening. They also reported that it rained at Penrith. The City is east and Penrith is west so I went outside to check and everything was dry. At almost 9pm, it's still dry here. It did get overcast late in the afternoon, but then brightened up again.

Good morning Perse and Berona.
I am not here!
In the cold light of day I could see a fine film of wood dust everywhere,so I am polishing for all I am worth. Luckily it is not long since I had a good clean,so it is easy to move the stuff

The joiner turned up early this morning and has put two coats of oil on the work tops, he has now gone off doing other things but will be popping back a couple of times during the day to put more coats on, he hopes to get four or five on. I must say, it is looking as good as it did when we first had it done.

No rest for the wicked,so off I go
