Good Evening Berona, and you too Persey,
Good Morning Linda.

I didn't know you were wicked Linda, you never said.

Today is bright and sunny in Wales, a little cool at 7 C, but no wind today.
Another storm forecast for tonight/tomorrow.

Tec.

A woman has to have her secrets Tec.

The house is now cleaned and back to normal, the joiner has gone clutching his large amount of money lol
All we have to do is to put the things back in the kitchen, but that can't be done until the oil has gone off. That will be this evening, but I have a meeting,so I will leave it until tomorrow and give everything a good clean as I return it to it's place.

Of course, I haven't opened the kitchen cupboards yet, so no doubt I will have to clean them one by one, but that can wait.

Lunch time for wicked people I think, then I have another meeting to go to this afternoon, lucky me.

hi everyone

Well I made it back!! Hope everyone is well and smiling :-)

I have not been very well and at long last can say I am well now!
Had some news earlier tonight about Snow White a regular poster here some time ago, so sad and so young, have fond memories of her. With that also I have the anniversary of my fathers passing away this week. Doesn't seem to get any easier.
There has been a few posters on this site that have gone to a peaceful place even tho we may never meet them they still touch our hearts don't they? Alison's post is the first post I see on this thread when I open it and I still have her messages as I do with Snow (Jeannie's) lovely people now resting. The anniversary of Lews passing has just been also. Another lovely lady, does not seem fair.

The end of the year is fast approaching. MY oldest son still seems quite keen to join the army still. Middle son is just totally besotted with his girlfriend of ten months and my youngest son is just breaking into teenage years :-( They are good lads well at the moment as they are asleep lol

Right I must be off to bed!

Hope all is well and keep smiling :-)

Love Janetxx

Good morning/evening all.

Good to see you Janet. It's always sad when the board loses a member. I've been here a number of years and there have been a few losses. My thoughts are with you on the anniversary of your father's passing. A lot of us have been going through that over the last couple of months.

My son was in the army for 14 years - within months of leaving school he was off. He did a tour of duty in East Timor which he really enjoyed. He reached the rank of Corporal which he still has in the Reserves.

As I have to go into the office for the morning I will probably miss some of you.

Berona Report 10 Nov 2010 21:46

Good evening and good morning to everyone. Another nice day coming up - or so it seems - even though our weather bureau forecasts "possible" thunderstorms and a top of 31. Yesterday's "possible" forecast didn't happen, but they're not wrong, are they? Possible means it may or may not happen - so whatever does happen - they must be right! Yeah, right.

Good Morning Janet, Sue, and Berona,
Good Evening Diane,

Janet good to see you posting again, I had wondered where you were, and I'm sorry you've been unwell, but glad you're feeling better now.

Sue don'tet them work you too hard in that office today.

Hi Diane, Hope you've had a better day - did you have any luck with the appointment?

Berona, I think you are probably better off with a barometer on the wall to forecast the weather. It was 7C again here today. Now we have dire warnings of severe weather coming in with winds of 80 mph and torrential rain - oh well, batten down the hatches again.

Tec.

Berona Report 10 Nov 2010 22:06

Hello Tec. I can't imagine a 'top' of 7c. We get that during the coldest part of the night, when we are snuggled up in our warm beds - but I don't think our 'top' temp went below 15 this last Winter. I do remember it getting down to 10 - 12 in winter, but that was quite a few years ago now.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 10 Nov 2010 22:24

lol Berona, call that winter

Hello from wet drizzly Auckland, we have had lovely weather the last few days and I had a lovely play around in a cemetery out at Hunua (near where Huia lives) on Monday morning. Found with one of the relatives a little bloke that died in 1927 aged 3 1/2 that I did not know about.

You mentioned op shops Linda - my OH used to get his shirts made by a tailor - all very expensive and then two of them were too short in the sleeves, he was not happy and he could never find the right ones in shops. Luckily he found a secondhand clothing for men store and he gets shirts from overseas there and is happy again, but the best shirt of all was bought at a Prebyterian Church Op shop for $6.00 - it was brand new and whenever he wears it he gets compliments. A woman even stopped him on the middle of a pedestrian crossing to admire it.

Good to see you back on the thread again Janet and am glad you have got that illness sorted out.

Cheers Persey

Hi all I'm back after watching my programme.

Tec I did ring the Secretary as Linda had told me ( thank's again hun ) after speaking first to the wrong secretary and then the right one told me I needed to ring Patient's registration, I then rang and spoke to them to find out that the Dr I was to see did not have another clinic after this week until the 8th of December, she has taken my phone number and said she will get in touch with me if there are any cancellation's for his clinic earlier than the appointment I have, also to ring them around the 2nd or 3rd Dec to check for any new cancellation's nearer the 8th.

Berona 15 is pleasant for us, we had that only a couple of wks ago, now we have the minuses.

Linda hope you soon get your cupboard's sorted out.

Berona

Berona Report 10 Nov 2010 22:45

Hi Linda. Not according to the kind of winter you have. I spent one Winter in London, and I know that is considered to be much 'warmer' than the North, so I was happy to stay in the south and saw snow for the first time in my life.
I went to Scotland in September and froze when we got up as far as Inverness. Loved being there, but glad to get away from the cold.
I have since been down to our snowfields in lower New South Wales. Enjoyed the weekend and the kids saw their first snow - but we were all glad to get home again, away from it. Nice to look at, but I wouldn't want to live with it.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 10 Nov 2010 22:48

We don't want to live with it either Berona, but we have no choice.

I am sorry you couldn't get an earlier appointment Diane, but fingers crossed that you get a cancellation

Persephone

Persephone Report 10 Nov 2010 22:50

I was quite happy to look at our snow capped mountains in the middle of the North Island the other day and say to myself well thank goodness I am not up there in the snow. My last encounter with snow was being out in it removing the chains from the car in Victoria Australia.

Tec I forgot to answer your question on how I was today, got taxi to work so I wasn't in to much pain when I got there and took thing's slowly while there, and as employer's mum's hairdresser ( who is mine as well ) was there to do her hair around the time I finished work she offered me a lift home so I was spared the walk of pain back home lol.

I am glad that you didn't have to walk Diane,
I am off to bed early because I have so much to do tomorrow morning that I will have to hit the ground running.

Stay warm up top and stay warm down under as well

Now what will you do next time you go to work Diane?

I do hope for your sake that someone does cancel their appointment... pity you can't just turn up on the doorstep and have a sit in until you are seen.
