You have enough to worry about without my hellos, Diane.

Royalty does not have to wait when they are in pain. I remember one of our Governor Generals going into hospital and it was indigestion - where the rest of us would have to take an antacid.

Waiting till December is a long time and no one should have to put up with pain like you do.

Good night Linda keep warm and don't work to hard tomorrow.

Lol Perse, if having a sit in would work I would do it,
as for every day until the 22nd Nov I will either get a taxi or walk to work, my hairdresser said whenever she is in my employer's area around 1pm ( which is the time I finish weekdays ) but not the weekend's she will ring to give me a lift home.

Diane

Edited= forgot to say as from the 22nd to the 30th I have a week off work.

Hi Diane. Have you ever tried just 'turning up' at the hospital?

Their phones ring all day and they have a set answer of telling the patients to see their GP. However, if you just show up and say you have to have some relief from the pain - they might take you straight in and attend to you.
I know someone who decides for herself what dosage of what she should have and ignores the doctor's instructions - then when she strikes trouble, her husband rushes her into Emergency and she is taken in and attended to immediately, ignoring all those other patients sitting in the waiting room. Her husband told me this and said "I'm not sitting in a waiting room for hours". I think he could see I was disgusted with him - but they still do it!

I have met people like that to Berona....

We were at emergency - had taken our next door neighbour in and whilst waiting in came this couple in their night attire - she looked like she had taken a few blows and he was also rather wounded and the other chap with them was limping around also looking rather unhappy and intoxicated. My husband fixed him - he had a drawing pin in his very dirty foot - a quick extraction and he was healed (or should that be heeled)

Berona if you mean A+E, I did that first and waited 31/2 hrs only to be told it was probably my arthritis that was the problem and if it continued to go and see my Dr ( which I did the next day ) I had even told them that I had pulled my hip suddenly and that was why I was in pain but after examining me and having me do different move's that was their diagnosis.

I must go now. I don't think we are going to have the thunderstorms as promised, so I'm taking my car for a run.
Might look in later, although I've been doing that and nobody was there!
Have a good day, Perse - and anyone else who is around.
Diane - go to bed. Hope you have a good night's sleep.

Editted. I know it is best if you can see a specialist. Will your GP refer you to one? I'm not sure how your medical system works.

Bye Berona and enjoy your run in the car, thankfully I sleep fine as I don't have any pain when I'm lying down ( thank god ) would be suicidal if i wasn't sleeping lol.

Diane

Edited= it is a specialist appointment I have, but not until the 22nd Dec.

Berona

Berona Report 10 Nov 2010 23:41

I'm glad to know that Diane. I know the Interns need to learn, but unless they are being led by a specialist, you could become a guinea-pig and you need expert attention, not have to put up with what might be just 'guesswork'. We only have one life, so it's best to get the best you can afford where experience might be necessary. We usually have 3 - 4 months wait for a good specialist - sometimes longer.

Lunch time here and forecast is " chance " of afternoon thunderstorms.
They are often very localised.
I got drenched getting to the car yesterday afternoon (Berona: at Botany), it poured cats and dogs down the motorways. No rain inside the tunnels but still bucketing as I went in to the Lane Cove tunnel. Easing as I came out a couple of km later and by the time I got home about 7 km further on it had stopped completely.
These sunny mornings seem to be having a good effect on my mood. I am trying to get 15 minutes in the sun to build up my vitamin D. My doctor said that half of Australian adults are deficient in Vitamin D, ridiculous in our climate but if you are shut in all day it is no wonder. Even worse for those who are shut in all the time.
Diane you must look forward to your days off. Don't party too hard.

I had a lovely drive in beautiful weather. Had the window down (part-way) to get the Vitamin D. It's still beautiful and hot outside and the last couple of forecasts omitted any talk of rain !!! We might have reached the 31 as promised - it's very humid. I have to take Vitamin D tablets as a supplement because I don't get outside much - there is so little I can do out there but sit and get hot!

Good Evening Persey, Carole, Berona, Colin.

Been a wild night here in Welsh Wales, gale force winds and torrential rail. Eased of now but another storm forecast for tonight.

Just had a doorstep visit from Jehovah's Witnesses.
Why must I argue with them? - they seem to like it.

Hope everyone is well.

Tec.

Hello all - if there is anyone who hasn't been blown away.

It's nice and sunny here today but more rain expected on Sunday. I prefer that to the bad winds in the UK.
