Good morning Persey ...... I hope you enjoy your still and warming , bright sunny day : ))

I suppose I could risk an Aussie dream Linda , I paddle in an exotic sea would be quite pleasant .

Fiddlesticks Sue... all tall dark and handsome - I have been to the Aussie beaches and they seemed to be all blond and bronzed. And here was me pale as and then red as.

Spiders are our friends -the Tasmanian Cave Dwelling spider has healing spittle or whatever - I would be more worried about including snakes and crocodiles in my dreams of Oz.

I can think of nothing nicer than sitting in the Aussie sunshine chatting to Berona - what a delightful way to spend the day.

Last night my doorbell went just after 10pm. There on the doorstep was my elderly neighbour, in her 80s. She had fallen indoors and was in a sorry state, badly cut hands, skin off her knees, bump on her head. We brought her in and patched her up as best we could. I phoned her daughter who lives 10 miles away. She came and took her mother to casualty. Apparently she is ok, and staying with her daughter.
Poor old lady.

Hi Amanda hope all is well with you and you are not having to much trouble with the weather as we up north are having.

Colin in answer to your question hun, yes I do look forward to my time off, wish it was more but I suppose as I'v had 2 more week's off than normal I can't complain.

Sue are you doing anything exciting today, or are you just going to spend time in the garden.

Berona how is the Vitamin D intake going, will you be taking your car for a drive today.

Hi Perse, Carole, Janet and Pam and anyone I have missed

Amanda - The Olive Sea Snake is a dangerous venomous snake from the coral reefs of northern Australia. I would be careful where you choose to paddle.

Hmm sue, was it your seafaring ancestor who got drunk and drowned in the dock trying to get back on the ship??

Actually now I come to think about it wasn't it your OH's

Tec, your poor neighbour, but I am glad that you were able to help her

Diane

Diane Report 11 Nov 2010 22:23

Tec that must have been a shock for you when you opened the door at that time of night, hope she is alright and not in to much pain after her fall, it can be the after shock of a fall at that age that can be worse than the initial fall.

Well he was one of them Linda:-)) An ancestor was coming back from some exotic place and the ship - the "Cyclops" went down and that was that. His only son was only a few months old and they had never seen each other.

Persey you are right - some of them are tall, blond and handsome;-))

There are so many sad goings on in our past generations.

My granddad never told my mum that he had a sister that died when she was five. My mother didn't believe me when I told her that I had found out about it. They kept quiet about of lot of goings on especially their war experiences.

I think I better go and find a top and make myself decent... just had a shower and got half dressed inbetween posts.

(*_*)

Diane - nice homely men can be a bit thin on the ground you may have to stretch your net wide... >* ))><

Diane

Diane Report 11 Nov 2010 22:49

Perse I have never understood why people kept that kind of information quiet, it's not as if it is something to be ashamed of, not like a child out of marriage ( which was kept quite ) so as not to bring shame to the person/person's involved.

Persephone Report 11 Nov 2010 22:55

Our eldest Diane was heading for five years old when we got married.
Not long after she went to school, we had no worry about people knowing - she told anyone who would listen that she went to our wedding. Same with the neighbours - we had hardly moved there and they all knew.
