Aaww bless, arn't they so cute at that age and stage when they are first learning how to speak and say such funny thing's.
My eldest grand daughter came to mine on Thursday with her boyfriend, wait until you get to that stage with her, I like the lad she is seeing at the moment and hope they stay together as he seem's to have calmed her down and she seem's to have grown up were sence is needed and not going out as much with her ( girl ) friend's drinking, as I was getting quite worried about the drinking with her friend's especially as she is still not old enough to be going drinking.

Sue I bet the same thing was true with your own children, didn't work with you but did with OH, alway's the way hun, my 3 tried it on with me but it only worked with their dad, with the grand children it work's for a while but then you become aware they are playing up on you and winning and for the sake of their parent's you have to be strong and stick to your gun's. My daughter's 3 still manage some time's to get round me but the one thing I come down on them for is when they are playing up on their mum.

ByePersey, Enjoy your day, whatever you do.

I don't know if I will join FB - so you will all have to imagine what I look like - give you a clue though - cave dweller :))

Well I guess you can be our mystery man Tec:-))

Diane - I was quite a tough mum in some ways but I'm not so tough on the little ones - I'm their grandma so I'm allowed to be a softie. They're all good kids but they have their moments. One thing I'm proud of is that we can take them out for a meal or snack and they are perfect. My daughter won't allow them to run around and annoy other people so it's a pleasure to be with them.
I really must be off - it takes awhile to make myself look presentable.

Have a good evening/day and I'll talk to you all soon.

~~~~~~~to all looking in:-))
Diane .....I hope your Granddaughter stays with this lad that you approve of . I hadn't even got to the point of worrying about what the Grandchildren will get up to ( still reeling with the shock of what my children have got up to ! .....lol ).
The young don't seem to be young for anytime at all these days or am I just getting old ?
My Granddaughter Daisy will be six on Monday , she has been bowling today with three little friends and is having a " sleepover " tonight .I bet my daughter is having a fine time trying to get four six olds to bed....lol
Don't fret Diane, you're not missing anything - the old dog ain't what he used to be - if he ever was lol.
Today I treated myself to a new shirt, new jumper, and a new pair of jeans, trying to smarten up the image lol.
Bye Sue, Enjoy your lunch, and the company.
Amanda I always think back to my youth and what I got up to, then the antics of the young don't seem half so shocking - were we so different really?
Have a good day Sue : ))
Tec ....a cave dweller that wears jeans ? You could always put a photo of the young you on Facebook , if you ever join , I'm sure that is what lots of people do ....lol
Amanda2003
Amanda2003 Report 13 Nov 2010 23:16
Tec.....your right there . I'm sure if my lot knew half of what I got up to their hair would stand on end .....lol. It's all a matter of perspective isn't it .
Amanda, My daughter recently said that she clearly remembered my 26 th birthday, as I was home, and we had a party - my goodness, that girl's got some memory - better than mine lol.
Was I ever 26?
Tec.
Bye Sue enjoy your dinner and tell us all about it tomorrow,
I too was quite stricted with mine and they were well behaved when we were out, as you say the grand children are a little different and it is great being able to spoil them once in a while, but mine are a bit older than your's and one thing I won't allow is if they try to be cheeky to their mum and they sometime's try it on with her ( teenager's ) so they are at that age were they are rebeling as all teenager's do. When I do have to have a word with them I do it in a way that doesn't seem to them that I'm getting at them, I usally have a quite word in the kitchen or my bedroom with them on their own away from mum and sister's.
Tec isn't it funny how some older people can wear jean's but there are those that would not suit them, I don't think I ever saw my dad in jean's, even when he was in his 40s/50s he would not have suited them. I alway's wear jean's but could never imagine my 2 sister's in them, just not their thing lol.
LOL Tec ..... I really don't like it when any of mine remind me about past parties and yes , as children , they don't forget seeing their parents acting strangely .....lol
Tecwyn
Tecwyn Report 13 Nov 2010 23:31
Yes Diane - it is strange about jeans, there are people you can't imagine in jeans. I've never owned a pair of trainers though, always shoes, and I've never had a track suit, I think men in track suit bottoms look awful untidy. All a question of taste I suppose, what suits one doesn't suit another.
Took me years not to wear my tie in bed, or on the beach LOL.
Well, I'm off to bed,
Enjoy your day Berona if you're still around,
Sleep well Diane, and Amanda, keep warm,
Goodnight,
Tec.
Diane
Diane Report 13 Nov 2010 23:32
Thankfully mine never had the opportunity to see me acting ( not so clever ) when they were young but take great delight to remind me about the time's we have been out together and I have made a fool of my self.
Time to go I think
Good night Tec and Amanda sweet dream's and stay warm
Enjoy your day all down under's
Page three again. i had a nice rest this morning which I needed as I was so tired last night. I have had a lazy day all in all, apart from going for a walk this afternoon. It was a nice day, but rather chilly.
SueMaid Report 14 Nov 2010 20:46
Good morning/evening from a grey, wet and humid part of Aus.
We had a very nice luncheon yesterday (Sunday). Lovely meal, great company and lots of laughs - a good way to spend Sunday.
I hope you're feeling more rested Linda - a lazy day sounds a good way to recharge your batteries:-))
I am rested and I am feeling very pleased with myself. I have a photo of mum as a little girl with her two sisters, the only one which exists. It is is a terrible state and I have just spent an hour working on it and it looks great. I could still do with spending more time on it, but I am chuffed with the way all the tears and creases have repaired
SueMaid
SueMaid Report 14 Nov 2010 21:11
That's great Linda. It's very expensive to have a photo restored at a photography shop. We looked into it years ago and were amazed at the cost. Luckily my OH has learned to do a lot of stuff with old photos.
