I found the "Contact Us" - it's within the Community button, and I have asked GR to return to GMT and fix our page numbering problem.
Hope they can do this for us.

Best wishes for today which is 5.20pm here and every day Colin..... and may you have many more.

I have never heard of varnishing sausages before, though I can well believe that that is all some of them are good for.
I assume that dogs won't smell them through the varnish and grab them and be off to have a crunchy munch.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~ to everyone
Edit: No one died in the middle of the night Tec... I was talking to my OH about a family friend who I always thought must've died when I was small - I have his war medals and a lovely heavy rug with his initials embroidered on the corner. I went to sleep thinking about him so got up to find out when he died and it turns out to be two years and two days before I was born. I had wondered when I was small when he was going to come and get his blanket.
Tecwyn Report 26 Nov 2010 20:53
Persey I'm relieved to know that nobody died in the middle of the night, and that it was just you being curious.
I have also had "Eureka" moments in the middle of the night, when unable to sleep and thinking about my tree. Suddenly something makes perfect sense, and I fly down the stairs at 3am to look at my notes.
The euphoria is short lived as I realise that my bright idea doesn't make any sense at all. Cold and disconsolate I crawl back to bed wondering why I have such awkward and secretive ancestors.
I think genealogy is an affliction for which there should be treatment.
Tec..............8-52pm.
Good morning/evening all. Another hot one coming up here. Yesterday reached 31, but was bearable, as the humidity was low.
Tec - are you the only one here at the moment? Hope you and the duchess had a good night's sleep and are warm.
I had a reply from GR assuring me that all suggestions will be considered when making future developments to the site. (?????).
Hello Tec - I don't really want to be cured from this frustrating but often wonderful affliction.
Good evening Tec,
how are you and OH this cold and snowy night, or didn't you get the snow ? My son said there was a slight fall of it in the area he work's (Toxteth) but I didn't see any were we live.
My employer's mum got a call today from the secretary of the consultant she saw last night ( private consultation ) and she has a date for her opperation which is the 6th Dec, that's what I call quick.
Hello Berona - you snuck in while I was posting. Yesterday was very pleasant here. It looks good again today although I think we may get some thunderstorms.
Edit - and now Diane has snuck in:-))
Diane Report 26 Nov 2010 21:13
Good morning Sue and Berona you both arrived as I was posting ( a bit like buses ) none for ages then 3 come at once lol.
Sound's like you both are having really nice weather ( enjoy it ) will be winter before you know it lol.
Berona Report 26 Nov 2010 21:17
I have my 'spasms' of researching. I've been doing it for about twelve years now - all four lines from my grandparents, and my OH's line. I try to work on one line until frustration sets in and I decide to have a rest - but it only takes one person to contact me regarding any of the other four lines - and I'm off again, working on that line until frustration sets in again.
I have never been guilty of jumping out of bed to check on something, but when I do settle into working on it, I often turn a one hour project into a four/five/six hour project. Once on a roll, I keep going.
Berona
Berona Report 26 Nov 2010 21:22
Diane - what do you mean "it will be winter before you know it"? It isn't even Summer yet! We are still on the tail end of Spring.
Diane
Diane Report 26 Nov 2010 21:26
OOPPS, thinking it is winter here I thought it was summer there lol, we seem to have skipped autumn and you seem to have skipped spring, we are having winter weather and your spring sound's as though it is summer ( silly me ) .
SueMaid Report 26 Nov 2010 21:29
Hi Diane - we have a lot of summer ahead before we even think about winter:-)) It will stay warm until at least April.
My brother and I have been discussing putting together a family tree with all our direct lines. This is going to be a mammoth task as we have gone back 8 and 9 generations in some branches. My brother is very interested in our military history so he is talking about writing up some stories about that history. I recently put some old photos on FB and my son rang me up and asked where they all came from as he hadn't seen them. Well he has but he just hasn't been interested so I offered to send him copies. He said he'd like to do a display starting with his son right through to his 2 x great grandfather. He has also asked for the family tree. At last another generation is interested:-))
Good Evening Diane,
Good Morning Sue, and Berona,
Diane we had lots of snow this morning, and a complete white out. Melted a bit this afternoon, now frozen slush and ice - very treacherous underfoot, and driving is scary although they have gritted the road along the coast.
Minus 6 C tonight, which is 2 degrees colder than inland apparently. I couldn't get into my car earlier because the door locks had frozen.
Berona I have to jump out of bed if I have a brainwave concerning my tree, as I might forget by morning - very sad I know lol.
Sue I too hope not to be cured of this insanity.
Tec...................9-33pm
Diane Report 26 Nov 2010 21:39
Hi Sue, it's good to see that your brother has now shown an interest in your family tree, but think about it you have done all the hard work already for him.
I know you have some time till you are thinking of winter Sue but it doesn't seem that long since we brit's were looking forward to our summer, and before we knew it ( there it was gone ) in fact did we actually have a summer to speak about :((
Diane
Tecwyn
Tecwyn Report 26 Nov 2010 21:42
Sue it must be great to have somebody interested in your tree to work with, and I think your son has a very good idea with the generation thing he wants to do.
My daughter is interested and frequently asks how I'm getting on with the tree, and I'm pleased to know that my work will eventually be passed on to the next generation.
Tec....................9-42pm
Berona
Berona Report 26 Nov 2010 21:45
Sue - it's a common fact of life, I'm afraid. A lot of us don't get interested in our family tree until we get older and have more time to give to it - and by then, everyone who could have helped us, has gone!
When my OH and I visited his sisters in 1989, we also toured the Cotswolds area and I admired the scenery. Didn't know until I started on my tree, that many of my ancestors came from there! We had the time and could have made enquiries, rambled around graveyards, etc. - but I had no idea that I was right there because I didn't know anything about researching family history then.
Good evening everyone. I am late because I am up my tree. At least I am not insane like Tec. There is no way that I would leave my warm cosy bed in the middle of the night to look at my tree
SueMaid
SueMaid Report 26 Nov 2010 21:46
Tec and Diane - my brother was the one who actually got me interested so we work on most things together but generally I do most of the computer work. He likes looking at the historical eras - who the reigning monarchs were, wars, epidemics and society. We just need to compile a family history and put it down on paper.
