Hi Peeps~~~

Sorry I didn't 'sign off' last night and wish you all well, had to close down my PC ( may have to now it's playing up) and so was hubby's lappy......sorry ,blushes I meant laptop.

It's a glorious +4 here today..wow !! With the chill factor feels freezing, the compacted snow on the pathways is like a skating rink, so treacherous!

Bit pushed for time now... have hair dressing apt later ( those of you who know me, know that I would rather have pins in my eyes or my teeth pulled without anaesthetic rather than the hairdressers ) so have to do something for tea that can go safely in the oven when I'm out.

luv

Just a quick dash in and out. i am in severe domestic goddess overdrive, we have invited two couples for dinner tonight.

I sincerely hope it will not turn out to be " an extraordinary dinner" to quote Tec lol
I hope that your daughter is OK today Perse and also that the Duchess is in less pain.

I won't be around tonight,so see you all tomorrow

Good Morning/Evening Everyone,

I hope everyone is well and happy today.

Well I expect Linda's guests will by now be complimenting her on her Cordon Bleu cooking and the wine will be flowing - hope it went well Linda.

Persey I couldn't possibly appear on the calendar - all that glamour, then my ugly mug? I can't speak for Colin, he may well do credit to the centrefold of a girlie magazine, but this old goat wouldn't.
We will just have to recruit three more delectable young ladies.

The Duchess went to have a new dressing on her leg today, but apart from that has rested it. She goes to have her 12 stitches out in ten days, but the result of the biopsy should be through by then.

Tec....................9-10pm.

Am I first cab off the rank in Oz? Good morning to you. Good evening to the Brits, if anyone is there yet.
Hope Linda's dinner went/is going well. She might be too tired to notice after all the housework she did beforehand.

Good Morning Berona,

What has the weather in store for you today?
Not so cold here as it has been, though cold enough. More severe weather forecast for next week.
I am sorry to hear about the people suffering the floods in some Aussie areas, that's awful for them.

Tec....9-20pm.

Good evening Tec ...... I hope the Duchess is not in to much discomfort and I have my fingers crossed for a happy result from the biopsy , waiting for results is always a worrying time : (

Good morning to you Berona , yes your the first Aussie of the starting line today .....lol

Linda , I hope your dinner evening is going swimmingly .

Persey , I'm sending best wishes to you daughter , I hope she will be well soon x

Sandie ...... I don't care much for the hairdressers either ....lol.... I hope you happy with your resent visit : ))

I have been busy today , decking my " halls " with christmas decorations , I always wonder how I get though the process without falling off of something .....lol......but I managed ok and am not sitting in a twinkly , sparkly living room .

Good Evening Amanda,

Thank you for your good wishes for the Duchess, appreciated.

You sound very festive sitting there in your twinkly, sparkly sitting room.So glad you didn't come a cropper climbing about. I will put our tree up this weekend in the bay window. It will have a gold theme this year, and has three sets of lights on it. Apart from that we don't really put anything else up these days.

Tec.......9-30pm.

We are in for a hot one, Tec - but I don't like to say it to you when I know how cold it is where you are.

Good evening, Amanda. Why don't you like going to the hairdresser's?
I only go to have my hair cut, but when I do, I always find it soothing to have someone else comb my hair - makes me want to go to sleep.

Tecwyn Report 10 Dec 2010 21:45

It's ok Berona - it's nice to know it's warm somewhere - I will day dream and imagine I'm waiting at Circular Quay for the ferry to Taronga Park for the day - in the sunshine lol.

There is a farmhouse up on the mountain at about 1500 ft - I just went into the garden and noticed they have decorated the front of the house with lots of lights. We are at sea level, but looking up the mountain in the darkness, the farmhouse looks as if it's floating in the sky - it really is very effective.

Amanda2003 Report 10 Dec 2010 21:54

Tec ..... your themed decorations sound far posher than mine , I'm impressed ....lol
Years ago we opted for suspending a branch from the ceiling and hanging the baubles on that , thus out of the way from marauding children , dogs and cats ...... we also have a " tree " that OH made out of metal ( shaped like a christmas tee ) , which stands proudly on the sideboard .

Berona , I have several reasons for not enjoying the hairdressers , the main one is being sat in a chair in front of a mirror with nowhere to run to......lol .....unfortunatly my hair is not my crowning glory , it is very fine , mousy in colour and no matter what I have done to it it soon reverts to just " being there " on the top of my head ...... I gave up on it many years ago .......lol

Hello everyone - I'm running a little late this morning. I've awoken to brilliant sunshine so decided to do bed linen and towels as well as a couple of loads of washing. The grass will be cut and the dog bathed while the going is good:-))

To be contrary - I like going to the hairdressers. I find it relaxing and the girls at the one I go to are very pleasant and chatty. I get good coffee and their magazines are up to date. I'm so shallow:-(

I know what you mean Amanda, about sitting in front of the mirror. However, I don't have that problem. I sit down and take one look and say "Yuk", then take off my glasses as they put the big bib on me - and I can't see any more!! Even when they hold up a mirror for me to see the back, I always say 'yes, that's fine' - and I haven't a clue what it looks like until the cover is removed and I can put the specs on again - and make my escape.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 10 Dec 2010 22:07

The farmhouse looks great Amanda, fair play to them for their effort and imagination.
I like the sound of your metal Christmas tree, a work of art as a metal sculpture - your OH sounds very clever with his metalwork.

I spend all day decorating the tree - got a box of miniture wooden toys painted in primary colours that I bought abroad years ago, I always use those, and lots of glittery baubles and lights.
We used to go to the forest and buy a pine tree from the Forestry Commission, but got fed up being covered in mud and the car full of needles, so now have an artificial one, it's nice, but not the same as a real one.

Tec....10-07pm.

Amanda2003 Report 10 Dec 2010 22:19

LOL Berona ..... I like your reasoning there ......lol

Sue , I think most ladies like to visit the hairdressers for the same reasons you do , it doesn't make you shallow at all .
I hope your splendid weather continues and that Molly enjoys her bath ....lol

Tec , my OH is clever with his metal work , he has made all sorts of things over the years , including giant metal spiders and a few interesting dragons along with all the candlesticks etc .

I like the sound of the wooden toys you hang on your tree .
I bought a little wooden tree ( it stands on the mantelpiece ) and has tiny wooden " toys" hanging off it . My Granddaughter Daisy always asks to play with it when she visits , she is very careful not to damage it so I don't mind .

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 10 Dec 2010 22:21

We had a real tree for years and I loved the smell but since our children left home we've had an artificial one. It's much smaller as we bought a large piece of furniture a few years ago and we don't have room for a large tree now. I still have some of the decorations the children made as youngsters and also some that the grandchildren have made. I have little frames with photos of my dad and my mother and father in law. We're going to put the tree up this weekend and OH will put the lights up on the verandah. That's my favourite decoration.

Good Morning Sue,

Sounds like you're in for a busy day taking advantage of the sunshine, I hope it last, but don't wash everything in sight lol.
