I've heard that word spoken by young ones and I'm sure they have no idea of the real meaning of it. It's used by them as a current term for people they don't have a lot of time for, or whose opinion doesn't matter to them, etc. |

Pat, that is about the extent of our pub visits these days, and usually at lunch time. |

You wouldn't take your wife or girlfriend to most of the pubs around here. We generally go to our local club for a meal and sometimes entertainment. We don't like crowded places but will put up with it for the sake of a good show. I do like dancing but that's usually at functions. |

Tec - you set Diane thinking - and she has pm'd me asking how did I know that she was still up when you told her that I said "go to bed"! She wanted to know if I had ESP? |

Tec, A while ago you mentioned an ancestor who died in Albany NSW, and I thought that it could possibly be WA as Albany (then known as Fredrickstown) was the first settlement in what was later to become WA but was at the time still administered fro NSW. |

With most of my rellos in Newcastle (app. 100 miles away), we think nothing of going that far and even another 20 miles or so, to attend a wedding, or funeral. Of course, these days, I spend the rest of the week sleeping more than usual, but that's just me! Many people drive that far to attend business meetings, etc. |
