Hmm, CC, I am sure that my cake was larger than that! Diane is going to think that I am a bit mean, just turning up with that tiny thing. Don't worry Berona, as Diane is in England, the party won't be until tonight English time. I know it will be a bit strange for you down under folks having to drink in the morning, but I am sure you will manage

Linda - We Aussies have a reputation for being heavy drinkers - especially in hot weather - so I'm sure we will manage to drink in the morning (somehow!).
CC - Was that Welsh? Sorry - I thought you had your fingers on the wrong guide keys. (Don't tell Tec I said that - I still have his list of pronunciations but my tongue gets in the way when I try to say them).
I have sent Diane a pm. Told her to have a good birthday, but if she isn't on holidays yet, to make sure she is in bed by 10pm. Don't know if she will do as she is told, though.

Look at all of you chit chatting on here while I watch Matrix on the telly. Keanu Reeves.....mm..mmmm:-))
I've just been rustling up some plates, glasses and serviettes for Diane's birthday party- only the best of course. So I don't expect anyone to be silly and break the best crystal and china. We must also drink a toast to Persey and Mr Persey wishing them a lovely anniversary.
Linda that cake is a masterpiece but I fear that some people (namely Carole and CC) have been having a little taste before the party starts. Shame on you, ladies:-)
CC it has cooled down a lot here but only for the next couple of days then I think the weather is going to warm up. We'll be in Hobart where it never stays warm for long. I've just been talking to my son and he says it's lovely and cool down there at the moment. Our grandson is counting the days until we get there. I can't wait to see him:-))

Sue - I'm sure you will have a lovely time in Tassie. I have never been there. In fact, I have been right around the world twice - over one way, back the other - once by ship and once by plane - but I haven't seen much of Australia!
I should imagine that Tassie would be good for Poms who want to emigrate but are afraid of the heat.

Sorry Sue, its just that Linda's cake looked sooo yummy:-) I'll miss out in the morning cos I'll be busy spoiling my little man, even though he's now taller than me, which isn't hard - me being only 5'2. Enjoy your movie, he's a bit of a hunk - Keanu :-))
Nighty night!

Good morning Tec.
I think that jogging over the Pennines might just finish me off. I will drive instead if you don't mind. In any case,I will have another cake with me,as certain people who shall not be named couldn't wait.
I think that the airport is now named after John Lennon. If our Aussie friends try booking a ticket to Speke airport, they will never arrive.
Goodness knows where they get these names from. The one near us at Doncaster was called the Robin Hood Airport. Everyone thought that it must be at Nottingham. i noticed that they have quietly dropped that name and are now just calling it Doncaster again

Good afternoon CC.remind me to lock up the silver before you visit.
I was so impressed by your mastery of the Welsh language, but you have gone and spoilt it now by confessing to using a translator.
I have just been out delivering library books on wheels. The patrons keep telling their friends about the service,so the round gets longer every time. My poor little car is weighed down by all those books and tapes.
I have "baked" another cake for Diane, but I won't put it out yet,or that one will go as well. We are going out this evening,so I will put it out before I go and hope that you have left a slice for me for when I come back.

L inda we have a mobile library service here. This huge vehicle the size of a double decker bus does the rounds of all the villages. Arrives here at 2 pm sharp on Thursday afternoon. Very well stocked with shelves of books upstairs too, and very well patronised as the nearest library is ten miles away.
CC. I was very impressed with your Welsh, much of it made sense, and I knew what you were saying. Had to read some bits twice, and only one sentence blew my mind, but well done for effort, must have taken ages taking it off Google. Da iawn - bendigedig.
Carole......Happy Birthday to your son, hope you both have a great day out
Sue, Happy Birthday to your Grandson too, bet you can't wait to see him, how exciting to have Grandma fly in to see you.
Perse, Happy Anniversary, sorry you have to spend it with a ball and chain round your ankle.........cramps your style I bet.
Hi to Berona and Allan, Hope to see you all at the party, mines a gin & tonic ice n lemon

The mobile library service is all very well Tec, if you can walk to it and carry a heavy pile of books. The housebound service is for people who can't do that.
I am going out now,so will have to trust you with the cake
I will probably be back fairly early, so hopefully will see you all later.
No touching this one!

Hello everyone and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DIANE. Hope you had a wonderful day and you're ready for the party. I'll have champagne:-))
Linda - last visit in 2008 we noticed the sign to Robin Hood airport and had a bit of a giggle. It sounded silly to us and all the more so because it's in Doncaster. I bet the locals don't call the airport by that name.

Good morning/evening everyone! Happy birthday to all who are having one - and happy anniversary to Perse and Mr.Perse!
I have heard from Diane. She is on holidays, so she can party on all day and all night!!! That's if she has the stamina for it!
Better bake another cake Linda - we don't want to run out of them!

Good evening/morning all
CC I'm impressed with your artwork.
That was some research you undertook to find Adam and Eve's details, but I suppose life was much easier then.
It's an inverse proportion kind of thing. The further you go back, the fewer people there are!
Did you research Moses and find out what illness he had to take the Tablets for?

This lovely message from our birthday girl.
Firstly I want to thank you all for your kind Birthday wishes, I have really enjoyed reading them all.
Sue thank you for your E-mail card it was lovely and I'd like to wish your grand-son a happy birthday and I bet he will be made up to see his Nan and Granddad when you arrive.
Linda your first cake looked lovely but unfortunitly I was unable to taste it as certain people got to it before I had a chance but the second one tasted delicious as I was able to have a big slice before that one disappeared.
Tec, thank you so much for your birthday wishes and guess what my daughter turned up to pick the girl's up and came in, that made my day :)).
Perse, thank's for E-mail it was lovely to receive it but I need to get my son to open the attachment, so I have that to look forward to yet hun, he's not here at the moment as he has deserted me for latest girl friend lol.
Carole, thank you for E-mail card it was lovely, and I hope your son had a great birthday too.
C.C, well what can I say to you? first I'd like to thank you for my cuddly toy and a glass of champer's BUT that is no excuse for you eating all my birthday cake before I had chance to have any lol.
Berona, thank you for your birthday wishes and for giving me permission to stay up/out as late as I want but I will probably go to bed at normal time as I was up last night till 6am this morning, only because I knew I didn't have to get up early this morning lol.
Allan, thank you for your birthday wishes too hun and all the laugh's you have given me reading the antic's you and our Tec get up to, now don't you misbehave while our lovely Sue is away visiting her grand-son.
To anyone I haven't thanked ( though I can't think of anyone else ) I'd like to say thank you in advance as I didn't mean to miss you out.
And last but not least, Alison I know you will be looking down on us all and if you had a way to send me a birthday wish I know you would hun, thank you for all the kindness and joy you gave me when you were with us xxxxxx
Right I had better send this to Sue so she can post it for me, and thank you all for my party, it has been a lovely lovely time with you all and a great birthday pressy,
Much Love to you all

Hi Everyone,
OK -I've arrived, and I'm ready to party.
It is fancy dress isn't it? because I've come as a white rabbit. Please don't stroke my ears, it's taken ages to get them to stand up.
Allan will you keep the music flowing, I think Diane likes Elvis......Hmm. But I suspect she likes the Beatles too
I'm running the bar . We have Vodka, Whisky, Gin, Rum, Tia Maria, Cointreau, Lager, Bitter, Cider, White & Red Wine, just ask.
The cake looks magnificent Linda, and the food is wonderful ladies.
Forget your inhibitions, those of you that have them, kick off your shoes, and LETS PARTY.
Raise your glass in a toast to Diane - The Liverpool Lass
