Fine, upstanding, Mr. Warne? Do you mean the one who "shuns" publicity? Don't know him! There must be two of them.

Of course, I knew where my tibia was - thought process went into idiot mode again.

This one is me:

Fractures (breaks) are common in the fifth metatarsal – the long bone on the outside of the foot that connects to the little toe. Ouch

And with that I am off to rest.

Have a good flight Sue and I don't need to tell you to enjoy yourselves as I am sure you will. (mutter mutter wish it was me)

Perse - my dtr had a similar incident to yours years ago. Immediately outside the school gate, the grass never had a chance to grow because of the amount of little feet which trampled on it, and a single path ran along the centre of the footpath.... She had paid ten cents for the privilege of wearing 'mufti' for the day (no uniform for one day - fundraiser) and she wore cork-soled sandals.

When she came out of school, she slipped off the path and went over on her ankle and kept going, landing on her arm. Finished up with a hairline fracture in the upper arm and a dislocated elbow - and paid for the privilege!!!

I know what you mean Berona - grass berms, edges, strips and other words similar can cause havoc as can some of our footpaths (sidewalks - or pavements). If you don't have your head down you can very easily end up on the ground. I tripped over one of those raised water covers once because I was looking straight ahead instead of down. No damage done even my stockings survived - they were thick warm black ones at the time.
My OH had a fall similar to your daughter - he was carrying our youngest who would've been under 3. OH broke the same bone as mine but was only a crack and nearer the little toe - and daughter had a grazed arm. They both went to A & E and they put her arm in a sling and they also put her toy rabbit's arm in a sling which I thought was a nice touch.

Hello everyone...

We had a nice day yesterday, my young man was spoiled thoroughly:-)
The birthday cake was a bit of a flop, it didn't rise as it was supposed to - so I filled it with strawberries and cream, a clever improvisation!!!

Sue..Have a great time in Tassie, glad your Mums going with you, remember, deep breaths:-)) Make sure you spoil your little man rotten!!!

Right, I had better go and get some dinner on the table:-))

Hello Carole, you were very inventive with the cake yesterday. I am glad that you enjoyed your day.

Perse,my thought processes are permanently in idiot mode. I just have the few lucid moments. Come to think of it confused people can often remember things from the past very clearly. So perhaps I was not having a lucid moment when I remembered the bones, perhaps I was just demonstrating my confusion!

Where is everybody? Am I the only one here?
Have I missed a clock-change?... I believe we go back to standard time on Easter Sunday...When do the UK clocks go forward? (or have you already done that?).

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 4 Mar 2010 21:09

I'm a confused person, and I can't remember what I had for dinner yesterday.

Don't ask me what my telephone number is - I'll give you a blank look.

No idea what my car Reg No is.

Never can remember passwords - always invent new ones.

Pin Number?.........what's that?

I do however know my name.

I know where I live - usually.

Perse........David Beckam, Michael Owen, and I think Wayne Rooney, all broke their Meta Tarsals.
They are all Premier Division footballers - Could you come and play for Newcastle?

Carole, That cake sounds nice - any left?

Good Morning Berona,

I did just post to you, but got kicked off, and post vanished.

How are you today? well I hope.

I think BST starts on 27th March, but will check on that.

Good morning/evening all.

Berona, you are correct: Daylight saving finishes in Australia on Easter Sunday.

I am joining the ranks of the funny walkers. :0((

The weather here has cooled dramatically here over the last couple of days although it is forecast to heat up again next week.

This has triggered a severe arthritis attack in my knee (yes my knee is the root of all evil) and is making it difficult to walk without a major limp and severe pain.

This all goes back to my school days doing PE when instead of taking off from a springboard and sailing gracefully over a wooden vaulting box I slammed into it on an angle, smashing my left knee. It was a couple of weeks before I was able to put any weight on it!

Oh dear Allan, does this mean the wheelie bins will be abandoned all winter.
Good evening Tec and Berona

Berona

Berona Report 4 Mar 2010 21:54

Goodness me! Now, we have daylight saving until April! When it first started back in the sixties, it finished at the end of February - then later moved to early March, then again to late March - and now April! That's almost six months of it!

If the UK goes forward the week before we go back - that wil mean I have to re-arrange my mornings - otherwise some of you will have gone to bed before I get here! I might re-arrange my evenings too, so that I can talk to you during your afternoon!

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 4 Mar 2010 21:55

But I usually go out on an afternoon Berona

Allan

Allan Report 4 Mar 2010 21:56

Good evening, Linda

No, I would never abandon the bins!

My knee only starts playing up when the weather is about to change, particularly if it is going to be cold or wet.

Once the weather has changed everything is, more or less, back to normal.

I went for my walk yesterday which aggravated it so I gave my walk a miss this morning.

However, I am still doing a very good impression of Chester on the TV programme 'Gunsmoke'
