Linda, expect high phone bills:-)) That's a shame that you are both so far away from each other. Lots of holidays to the other side of the country in the future, maybe????
My niece's little girl has just turned one, she is now walking. My sister is also a first time Grandmother, she spoils her granddaughter rotten, as she should!!!

Oromorph is liquid morphine Carole.
My trip out is cancelled because my friend is being taken back into hospital today. She broke her hip on Boxing day, but just won't heal properly. The break was as a result of her breast cancer having spread to her bones. She has been battling this for six years now. One of the screws has come loose and they are going to take it out, but not replace it. She hopes to be home at the end of next week,so I will go and see her then. We just fit the visits in when we can.

On a happier note, it is a girl, my daughter has just phoned me.

Thank you Allan. I will be delighted whatever it is, hopefully they haven't got it wrong. I saw the allotment heading, but hadn't looked at it as I was supposed to be going out. I will have a look now

I am glad that you got your tree problem sorted out Carole. I have my tree on my home computer. I just upload a stripped down version onto here once in a while. Apart from that, I don't use the GR tree

Allan Report 5 Mar 2010 11:43

Hello Carole,

My lugholes are well protected, thank you :o))

How are you?

Allan

Carolee

Carolee Report 5 Mar 2010 11:53

I don't use the tree on here much either, Linda. I wanted to update one of my ancestors particulars, that's why I wanted to use the search function - its easier than trying to scroll through the tree.
I mainly use Ancestry, and keep my tree private.

How is your allotment going? My Aunty grows all her own fruit and veg, they have a large property, she also makes all her own jams and such. They have had an enormous amount of tomatoes this year, so she has been very busy with making pasta sauces.

OH has been busy spreading manure and repairing the green house. We have had such a huge amount of snow and rain, that the ground is just soaking. You can't walk on it without getting huge clods stuck to your boots. It will have to dry out a lot before we can think of planting anything for this season.
I still have loads of jams and pickles on the go from last summer

Hi Allan:-)

I'm good, thanks. I'm glad you're taking care of your lugholes:-))
Where on earth did that word originate, my dad used it all the time!!

I googled and found this Carole

Slang for ear(s). Derived from Cockney Rhyming slang from Toby Jugs (lugs).

Gosh, it is mid day and I am still pottering around on the computer, I had better go and do something else.

See you all tonight.

Carolee

Carolee Report 5 Mar 2010 12:09

Thanks Linda, its not from Yorkshire, then? Sorry, Cockney is London???
Aussies do the same, as in trouble and strife (wife)

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 5 Mar 2010 13:19

Cockney rhyming slang is from London, within the sound of Bow Bells (church) Trouble and strife is also Cockney

Good Morning/Evening Everyone,

How exciting Linda, to be expecting a Grand Daughter - congratulations to you all.

CC...........I believe Berona and Linda were appointed custodians of the thread in Sue's absence, an onerous responsibilty indeed. I can't imagine who the two renegade men you refer to are? The only two charming young men to post regularly on this thread are Allan and I . We could hardly be described as renegades - there's Allan with a gammy knee, grieving that he can't make it to the moonlight gathering of his wheelie bins, and me doing an impersonation of a fossilised Welshmen missing his Horlicks............Renegades - that's a laugh!

Allan Report 5 Mar 2010 21:12

Good evening/morning all

CC I take fish oil capsules as suggested by a Consultant Physician as well as aspirinplus an assortment of other things. I'm always scared that they are going to interact and leave me splattered over the Living Room.

because of the Aspirin I bruise easily which can lead to funny looks. Before any long flights (over 3 hrs) I have touse clexane, which is an anticoagulant which you inject into the abdomen. This reacts with the Aspirin and I end up with a massive bruise at the site of the injection. Vey colourful for a few days, but I make sure that I don't go swimming incase I upset the other people.

Sue Normally leaves Berona and Linda in charge whilst of gallivanting, but they soon give up. :0))

Who says they 'give up'???
I caught you on other threads last night, Allan and I'm watching you again to-day!

I take Glucosomine with Fish Oil for my arthritic joints. Costs me more than my prescribed medications! I also now take a magnesium for cramps, and Vitamin D - all off the shelf (and expensive) patent medicines.

However, I can still chase YOU around the boards until Sue comes home. Hope she brings me a goody-bag from the party! I'll deserve it.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 5 Mar 2010 21:28

I feel left out because I haven't got arthritis. Has anyone got any to spare?

Have you finished that kitchen yet Tec?

Good evening Linda

I trust that you are both well.

Berona, I've just added to the Home and Away thread :0))
