Rummaging in the pantry today, I found a bottle of white vinegar - OH denies all knowledge of it, though she must have bought it, I didn't.

What is it used for,as against ordinary vinegar?

Does anyone know?

Tec it is also useful in salad dressings

And very nice on chips

I have learnt a fantastic lesson on how to fool the sisterhood now that my identity has been restored!

Thanks CC that's interesting - we don't have limescale here though, because our water comes from the reservoir up on the mountain, so is very soft water - I do use ordinery vinegar to clean the windows, chandeliers, and cut glass though.

or you can just use it as vinegar in recipes where you don't want the brown colour

Tec I prefer to cut glass with a glass-cutter.....much, much quicker!

With all these wonderful things that vinegar can do to get scum, etc. off things - makes you wonder what it does to our insides?

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 7 Mar 2010 23:11

Do they have secret men in Yorkshire Linda?

or just puddings?

Linda - it's not business concerning secret men -
it's secret business concerning men!

Allan

Allan Report 7 Mar 2010 23:13

Secret men means just that!

They are SECRET!

They are shy but sociable creatures, outnumbered by the female of the species, and living in constant fear of 'the look'

Or so rumour has it :0))

Most of the men in Yorkshire are indeed puddings Tec

I think a good descale inside probably does us good from time to time Berona. Anyway the gastric acid in the stomach is about pH 2, so is much the same as the white vinegar

Tec I find some of the comments from ladies on this thread very acidic!

I know Allan, but our alkaline personalities tend to neutralise their acidity I find,
