Hello Perse.
Surely Scotland must have produced something better than Rod Stuart. maybe whisky

A mature wine Tec? maybe a mature cheese

Hi Allan

Told Sally last night that you were the sane one - just chatted to the MGBs. Haven't mentioned your maid's outfit.

We can get very good sausages here in NZ - seems a lot of Aussies don't like them - I don't bother with them when I am in OZ as there is all your lovely seafood and believe it or not one of the best pieces of Lamb Rump I had was in Tassie. Apart from what I cook myself of course. Our restaurants are inclined to do it too rare for my liking.

I canna see the Scots inventing a cheese but maybe they have a whey of doing it.

My grandmother was from Scotland so there you go Linda they managed to do something well.

Whisky?

Just a wee deoch an doris, just a wee drop, that's all.
Just a wee deoch an doris afore ye gang awa.
There's a wee wifie waitin' in a wee but an ben.
If you can say, "It's a braw bricht moonlicht nicht",
Then yer a'richt, ye ken.

I think I have a bit of Scot it me - having trouble with the ancestors who lived on the border.

Sue - I hope the little one gets over his croup quickly. Children can go up and down so fast, you can't take your eyes off them! Let us know how he is, will you?

Allan

Allan Report 15 Mar 2010 22:30

Persey, if you remember your history cheese was first made in Curdistan

The Scots are very good at screaming and cursing as would any nationallity be that runs through fields of very high thistles whilst wearing nothing under their kilts!

As for being sane, my certificate is due to expire soon. I suppose that I should renew it.

Persephone Report 15 Mar 2010 22:36

My ancestors are Borderers too Berona - and I cannot get back in their lot - they are Turnbulls and there is so so many of them. I can only manage the ones that went to Australia. But one day - smash the wall down!!! and I will get through.

I have a friend from Turkey Allan he is a Kurd.

Cheers P xx

Hello Rose - you're welcome any time.
Melbourne had the worst storms they had had in years but they are over now and I understand the weather to be quite nice at the moment. Back to being sunny and warm. Your brother should enjoy it.

Allan Report 15 Mar 2010 22:46

Berona,

are you doubting my ability to fake sanity??

I will be taking a couple of wheelie bins with me as character witnesses.

And if that doesn't work, i'll just change the date on my old certificate!!

Berona Report 15 Mar 2010 22:46

Perse - the name I'm chasing is Embleton and I get a lot of unwanted info concerning the town of Embleton - and never the info I want! I was in contact with the Durham Records office a year ago and was quoted twenty five pounds to 'search'. I gave them the OK to go ahead, but nothing! Checked again in August - but no reply. Surely it doesn't take this long?

Berona

Berona Report 15 Mar 2010 22:48

No, Allan - I'm not doubting you. I am only suggesting that you apply for your renewal NOW in case you need to make a few 'adjustments' before they agree to the renewal!

Persephone

Would you like a reference Allan?

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 15 Mar 2010 22:51

Allan,
If you wear the Maid With The Hairy Legs outfit, accompanied by the Wheelie Bins, when you go to be certified, that should clinch it I would say.

Tec

Persephone Report 15 Mar 2010 22:51

Just think with 10 years service to wheelie bins you will probably get one with a gold star on it. They would probably hold a passing out parade.

You could borrow Tec's dongle with the blue light on it.
