We don't have a calendar Perse, we just have to remember - I do have a wicked giggle when someone gets it wrong.

Very enterprising with the shredder,

Bye Janet - Enjoy your day.

Berona Report 16 Mar 2010 22:51

Hi Janet - reading your posts brings back memories. I had three playing soccer and one netball - then cricket and athletics in summer. My OH founded the soccer club and helped get the athletics underway - then handed it over to me! I had ten years on the soccer committee and twelve with the Little A's - almost concurrently! In between, my OH was a coach and I managed a team. No wonder I didn't get a lot of housework done!
It's amazing how many other parents thought that since we were 'involved' so much, we wouldn't mind ferrying THEIR child around as well. Actually, we didn't mind - but it would have been nice if just once, one of them had offered to do that for us and give US a break when possible!

Berona, There's always vacancies for football team managers over here if you fancy a career move!!
The wages are very attractive, but they expect results of course.

I have been caught up with phone calls and now it is bedtime.
Allan, you haven't told us about your pressies, other than the bins of course

I'm back. Just taken delivery of a very subdued young man who has told me very seriously that he's "not very well". He doesn't want to have a cuddle because he's too sick and he doesn't want to talk. He just wants to watch Ice Age 2 and then the Wiggles. Oh dear:-(

Ours was strictly voluntary Tec. Our Big Time clubs pay their coaches and managers - but not the local brigade.

Your managers have more say in the selection of players and strategy too. My job was to hand out the shirts, mind the valuables, serve the oranges, and collect the shirts - which usually meant that I took them home and laundered them too. If other mothers offered to do the shirts, it was usually a mother who had seven of her own - the mothers of only one or two never offered.

Sue, the little man will soon bounce back!

Just spoil him

Goodnight Linda,
sleep well, keep warm.

Sounds like the little man just wants to sit quiet, and be left alone. I guess we all know that feeling - you can sneak in a cwtch when he's not looking.
Hope he's better soon.

Been there and done that, Berona. OH is still involved at a senior level as a strapper. He says every year that it's his last year and then he goes back again. I don't mind because I know he loves it. We were involved in junior football for a number of years - OH as a coach and me as the canteen supervisor.

I have missed out on the football. OH used to play field hockey and so did my son. i got to spend my time taking my daughter to ballet classes, she danced until she went to uni. I helped organise the costumes for all of the shows. We even stored all of them in our house.
