Afternoon Allan

Can't say I blame you. I'm not really keen on FB myself, but so many others are there, I can keep up with them that way. I'm not interested in looking in on them often, but they upload photos and I can see what's going on.
Last weekend we had a dinner for my dtr's 40th on Friday, then on Saturday, her friends who have caravans all arranged a party - a 'formal' one. Dinner suits and evening dresses - in the caravan park! I declined to go to that one, but I enjoyed looking at the photos on FB.

That's why I am on there Berona - can see all the photos that my daughters and grand daughters and friends put on there etc. I don't say much (that makes a change) and I do not play Farmville etc - got my daughter to join up with one of the GR members because they both play that game and the GR member wanted more players.
I did join the Sooty and Sweep fan club though and the Georgie Pie fan club as we quite liked their pies.

The boot and I have our moments Tec - I try and manage without it more and more - but then I find I need to put it back on.

I see you are planning diversionary tactics, called procrastination re doing up the kitchen etc. Met my OH have you?

I haven't had the privilege of meeting your OH Perse, but I'm sure he is a fine upstanding gentleman of the first order.
If he is skilled in the art of procrastination where DIY chores are concerned, then I'm with him all the way.
More power to his elbow I say.

Is your name showing at the top of the board like it normally does. Mine was there yesterday and today nothing.

Some people have instead of their name it states: Forename.
GR seem to be continually playing around.

Yes Perse, my name is there as normal.

I was asked five times today to sign in, in order to get access to my tree.

I do have problems accessing GR that I don't seem to have antwhere else. I did query this with them a while back, but just got a lot of mind bending waffle back from them, to the effect that it was all my fault - not impressed.

I saw a message about it on tips board and then took a look - and nothing there.

I must be ghost writing.

I have GR in my favourites and just click on that each day and don't have to sign in. I put it back there because I kept getting kicked out etc and it has been okay until someone pointed this out.

They do do some funny things this GR crowd.

But no funnier than our newspapers - I often wonder about their proof reading.

I'm not having any problems with Genes. Mine were with FB. We tried many things. Each time I entered my friend's name, four of the same name showed, none of which was right. I did try her email address but that didn't work.
She couldn't find me either, so my last suggestion was that she see if she could find my daughter-in-law who has a fairly 'open' type of profile, with me as one of her friends.
That did it! My friend found me on there and clicked on it and my (limited) profile came up. She then sent the request and I have since answered it. Success at last!
Strangely, since then, I have once more typed in her name and the same four of the same name came up again - but this time there were FIVE! Her name was on top of the list.
Maybe that's why I couldn't find Diane!

Berona, I can usually find someone on face book by their email address. You can also block yourself so that people cannot search for you. Maybe face books search engine is a dud!!
I'm on face book, but don't go on there that much.
I talk to my cousin in the UK on Skype, its great because you can see the person you are talking to.

Wow, Happy thousand plus birthday to our thread, what a great achievement and a lovely group of people we all are:-))

Ive been busy looking for my great Uncle who was killed in the 2nd World War, I found his death record plus a certificate with all his details - the certificate even mentions his parents.
He joined the army at 19 and was only 23 when he died, so so sad! He will now not be forgotten, I'll make sure of it!!!!

Yes CC - I do watch Sooty and Sweep on You tube and Soo - she sometimes reminds me of our Sue on here keeping Allan and Tec in line. I think that was the best puppet show ever. Shari Lewis was clever - but Sooty and Sweep won hands down or should that be hands up.

I am amazed at how many of my relatives went to war and didn't come back Carole. My Great grandfather's brother's family lost two sons - their daughter didn't marry and that left one son to carry on their part of the family. It is quite sad - as a lot of that generation I do not have photos of but I do of those that died from our War Archives.
