Good morning Sue

I may have to report you for using bad language......h*usework!! :0))

Glad to hear that your grandson is improving.

Tec, I've read somewhere that the surname Jones is very uncommon in the UK !

OH has Welsh Williams in the family. To complicate matters OH's great great grandfather Thomas Williams married Catherine Williams. They may have been cousins but I don't know. All their siblings were called the same names. Thomas' father was called William Williams:-(

Hello Sue and Allan
My visitors are here and were treated to a nice meal, well thought it was nice anyway.
They are tired so have gone off to have showers and go to bed early.

I am glad your grandson is better Sue and that the cat isn't too bad Allan

Linda, I'm sure that any meal prepared by you fair hands would be a gourmet's delight!

Tec has been giving me lessons in Flannel

It is nice to have my son here Sue.
Allan i don't think that flannel is very edible

Better late than never. Good evening/morning all.

Sue - glad the little fellow is improved. So has mine - must have been one of those 'bugs' we can't define.

I too, have seen people on these boards, complaining about Hot Matches - actually wondering why GR have the audacity to match someone in Canada with their relative in the UK. Don't they read the thing first? GR find hot matches with names and birthdates - nothing is said about the place of birth! I've noticed that my hot matches usually show that someone else has entered those names within the last couple of weeks. This causes the program to search for all others of the same and those of us who have been members for a long time, get the matches on names we no longer require info on - but isn't that what it's all about?

"Flannel"?

Linda - I think our son must have really enjoyed our visit. He has rung us up 3 times since then and each time has mentioned that he missed us when we left. We'll be going down again in May for his birthday for a longer visit.

Hello Berona - I'm glad your little fellow is feeling better. No appendecitis then?

Did I miss something? Flannel? Flannel material? Flannel Flower? Edible?

Allan

Allan Report 19 Mar 2010 22:32

Sue, I'm not sure whether 'flannel' is just a Northern expression but it is the same as flattery.

Good Morning to you Berona,
Hope you're in the pink today.

Sue, Most of OHs ancestors are Williams, she has a Catherine married to Thomas, and a Thomas son of William Williams - maybe your OH and mine are related - who knows?

Tec

Tec, I hope you mean that Berona is wearing pink clothes

Berona

Berona Report 19 Mar 2010 22:48

A little cool in the mornings to be wearing the birthday suit, Linda. Besides, I do prefer other designs - they suit me better - particularly if they are shaped like tents!

Tec - if all the Williamses and Joneses in Australia came from Wales, there can't be many left over there.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 19 Mar 2010 22:53

Linda - "In the pink"

means = flourishing,
radiant,
in top form - etc etc.

I didn't mean I hoped Berona was trotting about starkers,
would I say a thing like that?

Tec

LindainHerriotCountry Report 19 Mar 2010 22:55

Of course you wouldn't Tec, you are a perfect gentleman.
Berona, with all the time you spend on your treadmill, I am sure you don;t need clothes like tents

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 19 Mar 2010 22:57

Berona, Three of my nearest neighbours are Williams.

That's how you get -

Williams the milk,
Williams the bread,
Jones the coal,
Williams the bus. etc.

I'm originally a Northener, Allan. I'm a Leeds girl.

Tec - OH's Catherine Williams was born in Dowlais Glamorgan. Thomas was born in Glamorgan too but I'm not sure which town. They moved to Middlesbrough and lived there the rest of their lives. OH's family insisted that their Morris family were from Wales and still don't believe me that they originated from Kent. They have no knowledge of the Williams family therefore they didn't exist despite the fact that their mother was named an unusual Welsh name after her grandmother Williams.
