Hello Sue.
I am apart from all the rugby matches on TV today. there have been three of them, so OH has had them on all day. England are currently losing to France

Not a rugby fan myself. Unusual here in Aus. but we do like our football. Do you still have your son and girlfriend staying?

Yes and no.
They stayed here last night, but have gone to a friends wedding today. It is only about an hour from here, but they are staying in a hotel overnight. They will come back here tomorrow and stay tomorrow night and go home on Monday

It is such a shame because it was a nice day yesterday and is supposed to be nice tomorrow, but it has been raining al day which is not what you want for a wedding

Good evening and good morning all.
Another nice day with yet another hot afternoon forecast - much hotter than it should be for March.
Hope all are well. Anyone doing anything exciting to-day/tomorrow?

Berona Report 20 Mar 2010 21:14

Sally - everyone I know who has done that, has said it was amazing! I walked across the lower part many, many years ago. Just as well, because I wouldn't be able to do it now! Hope you have a lovely time.

CC - I was just going to ask if anyone had seen you! You and Sally posted same time as I did. Hope you are well.

A sudden rush of arrivals, hello Sally, CC and Berona

Berona

Berona Report 20 Mar 2010 21:22

I have been in this chair for ages - but after having left the computer on all night for three nights, I switched off last night and had a couple of upgrades waiting to be downloaded this morning - which didn't run smoothly.

Maybe it was me! I settled down to sleep at 11:30 last night and at 2:30am, my phone rang. By the time I got to it, the caller had disconnected and left no message - BUT - that was the end of sleep for me! I made a cuppa, read my book for a couple of hours - tried sleep - but gave it away. Ggrrrrrr!

Hello, CC and Berona.

Berona - it's supposed to get to 30 degs here today so it will be hot where you are. Although it's cooler in the evening and early morning I wish it would cool down during the day - 24 degs would suit me.

I'm feeling quite down at the moment. A number of things seem to be going on and I'm finding them weighing heavy on my shoulders. I can usually sort things out and at least attempt to solve the problem but it just seems at the moment too many things are being thrown my way and I'm finding it hard to cope. I'm afraid I'm a "moaning minnie" at the moment. Sorry:-(

Good morning/evening everyone

CC, we couldn't close the cat flap as we have two other cats. As I've posted a while ago, none of the cats are 'ours': two are my daughter's and the other is my son's.
It was a case of "can you look after him/them until I get myself sorted?"

Sally enjoy your walk. I've only been to Sydney once and that was only for an overnight stay when I attended a meeting, but I did manage to walk s fairway round and ended up at the Rocks. I'd love to go back and spend a more leisurely few days exploring.

Tec, I'm glad that Wales won and against Italy which is renowned for its rugby prowess!! :0))

I have just been looking at some records on find my past which I haven't looked at before. I put in OH's surname which is fairly unusual and came across one relative who I knew about. There are thirteen pages of incredibly detailed records including his two marriages and it even has a full copy of his death certficate. I will download them tomorrow

Greetings Everyone,

France 12 England 10............oh dear!
But Wales and Scotland both won their matches.

Allan, It would be a sad day if Wales lost to Italy :)))

Sue, I hope your spirits lift as the day progresses - I hope very much your little dog responds to treatment, I do know how you feel, my black lab means everything to me. He is showing his age now unfortunately.

Linda the rugby has finished now - you can come out.

Sally enjoy your walk over the bridge - wish it was me.

CC.........I have'nt lived in Essex since I was 16, so can't qualify as Essex boy.

Berona, We have had lots of rain today, but actually we needed it.

What records are they, Linda? I did find a military record awhile back for OH's grandfather who was in the navy during WW1.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 20 Mar 2010 21:51

They were
British Army Service Records 1760-1913
on Find my Past Sue, just in the Military records section. There are quite a few different categories

They have
Royal Naval Division records 1914-1919 which i think are deaths but it says
The majority of deaths recorded in these WW1 records took place between 1914 and 1919, but the deaths of some men as late as 1942 are also recorded.

Advice required please:

Which is the better site to subscribe to, if you could only go with one?

Find My Past or Ancestry?

Hello Tec. My little dog is definately not well this morning although not coughing. Very difficult to rouse her so I'm hoping she is ok to have more tests tomorrow. I really can't bear the thought of losing her:-(
