Goodnight Perse. The name return doesn't seem to last long Carole according to what I have read on a different thread. I never bother logging out and am quite happy to be anonymous

I have signed out and signed in again and I am now Linda again. It even says Linda on the top of the page,so Allan was correct about his name being there

Good morning/evening all. Hope you are all well.

CC - we are going on a 10 night cruise around the South Pacific. We can't wait. Everyone we know who's been on a cruise tells us about all the things we can do but I just want to read and sleep - well at least for the first couple of days:-)

I signed out then signed in again and I'm not longer Forename - I'm a person again:-))

I would love to go on a cruise but don't think himself is at all keen. He likes to buzz around flat out and see everything - we have talked about it before when friends of mine went. They took to of their granddaughters as it was only an extra $500 each for them - some sort of deal.

Anyways about Allan and Tec while you are away Sue - you tend to leave a couple of us in charge of them - I hate to be the one to tell you this - they are your responsibility and you either can take them with you or arrange for a creche. Last time I gave them both colouring in books to keep them occupied and within five minutes Allan had gone and coloured outside the lines. Tec was very good at joining the dots in his book but it wasn't long before he was also straying off the page.

You snuck in there CC -

But you have the right idea, we could probably manage one - it's the two of them that are the problem.

P xx whose name has stayed overnight and is still there but of course I am a Brit. now not a kiwi.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 24 Mar 2010 20:46

good evening/morning everyone.
I can only go on the cruise if I have an outside suite, preferably with a large private balcony. I can't stand being closed in

Persephone

Persephone Report 24 Mar 2010 20:51

I don't know about that - I would be the last choice I am a bit like Uncle Joe - I am moving kinda slow at the Junction - and anywhere else for that matter. Don't fancy making playdough either.

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 24 Mar 2010 20:53

I am not going to take another man on the cruise with us - my goodness, what would people say!! OH wouldn't be too fussed either:-) No I'm sorry you will all have to take responsibility - even Mother needs a break.

Persey - I thought OH wouldn't be too keen on a cruise. He loves going places and seeing things. He enjoys a driving holiday even when we are in the UK. He's really looking forward to this cruise mostly because it will be a new experience. Linda - we have an outside room with a balcony. I couldn't bear an inside room with no windows.

I have a play dough recipe Perse. I used to run a playgroup at one stage,so made tons of the stuff

Persephone

Persephone Report 24 Mar 2010 20:54

One of the very posh buildings in Auckland had a lift breakdown the other day and several people were trapped for sometime. They tried contacting two lift maintenance people and neither would come because both were in dispute with the owners of the building.
Another building owner wanted more rent from his tennants and so he pulled the plug on the lifts & decided that they would have to walk up the many flights of stairs ( as a form of blackmail - it didn't work and cost him)

LindainHerriotCountry Report 24 Mar 2010 20:55

Oops,I didn't mean to let myself in for running the creche. I have done a playgroup leaders course, but that was zillions of years ago while my children were young and before I went back to work

Persephone

Persephone Report 24 Mar 2010 20:58

I have a very good play dough recipe - I used to make it for playcentre when my youngest was there. I'd make heaps and give it to the neighbours for their kids. The children were really excited the day I made black playdough - I have never seen so many of them interested in it before - even the boys left their sandpit - trucks and excavators etc to come inside and play with it.

When I worked at Auckland Hospital - several of us used to walk up five flights once around the wards on the fifth floor and then up the next five flights to the tenth floor and then down again as a form of morning exercise.

Persephone

Persephone Report 24 Mar 2010 21:08

I was young and foolish.

My mother used to give me a desert spoon of malt every night when I was five through to about eight and it was to make me a big strong girl. (I had a problem gaining weight as a child) But take a look at me now!!!

So believe you me - the stairs were a very good idea.
I worked at the Hospital for nearly five years it was a great place - good cafeteria lunches and lots of camaraderie.

SueMaid Report 24 Mar 2010 21:15

Whenever I'm at the office at our local hospital I see loads of nurses and other staff taking the stairs down to the car park and I think how energetic they are and I admire them for getting the exercise especially after a hard days work. I think all these thoughts as I get into the lift:-)) Trouble is I've seen some of these nurses standing outside on the footpath smoking in their breaks. Which brings me to another story. My eldest son - who lives in Hobart - smokes. I've been on at him forever to give up. He just rolls his eyes. He took great delight in ringing me the other day to tell me he had just had a physical examination as he has applied for the prison service. Apparently they told him that he is extremely fit and that after 6 minutes on the stationary bike his heart rate barely went up. I told him I want it in writing.

Allan Report 24 Mar 2010 21:17

Good evening/morning to you all

I have been lurking......well lurking at the last few pages to see what fate is planned forTec and me.

Please remember "Nor iron bars a prison make!"

Berona, I may have used the wrong word yesterday with at the top of each page.

As either CC or Persey has said, my name is at the top of the screen just under the FR banner. I am using the UK site.

I'm beginning to feel a tad left out with this site. No hot matches, no being hurled into oblivion, and the only problem with my name was caused by myself

Persey, you are still young, but no longer foolish, just mildly irresponsible!

Tecwyn Report 24 Mar 2010 21:19

Greetings to you all,

I'm not going in any creche - I'm going to stow away on Sue's cruise ship, and pop up when she leasts expects it. I know where to hide, and will take Allan with me.

Tec.

Good evening/morning all. All ladies? No gents around?
That's good. I knew you would be fussy, Linda - with that Finishing School education of yours. I'm pretty fussy too - it makes us snooty like that, doesn't it? but don't let an Old Salt like Tec hear you saying things like 'rooms' when referring to CABINS (or STATEROOMS!).

By the way - just how much champagne was absorbed last night? I only had one glass - but Linda and Carole kept going and I see Perse joined them. Linda - you must be in quite a state by now. Have you even tried the strawberries with a chocolate fountain?.....scrumptious!

Persephone

Persephone Report 24 Mar 2010 21:19

Thank you Allan darling - but I will unfortunately always be older than you.
