I am off to bed as well, but not with Tec lol.
I will not be getting up early in the morning to watch the Grand Prix

Goodnight everyone. I hope your day does not get too hot

Yes Allan - some border plants can comfortably do a second season, but need to be replaced after that.

One of my favourite 'low' plants is Polyanthus, but I was always fighting a losing battle with snails. As soon as I planted those, I'm sure the snails passed around the word "party! party!" to the entire district..Might have been OK if I had a duck waddling around, but with cats and dogs, too, that wasn't practical.

Goodnight Tec.

Sue, I'll check with OH when she descends, but I'm sure that she just snaps pieces off one the plant has finished flowering and the leaves have fallen, leaves them to dry out over a period of time, and then just sticks them straight into a pot in spring.

Berona, in the UK we had a whole swag of polyanthus which were descendents of one of my parents plants. We never bought any, just kept dividing them.

I've tried growing them here but with no success! I've tried under shade, full sun, the works but always failed!

Speaking of propagating things:

We have a curry tree in the garden which was given to us by my SIL a few years ago, the thing is now as tall as the garage.

I do use the leaves when making my curry, and also in many Indian dishes.

My SIL asked for a cutting from the tree as hers had died.
We tried cuttings, both softwood and hardwood, I collected seeds and planted them.....absolutely nothing!

Last year we looked under the tree and found several small plants appearing. The bl**dy thing had self-seeded!

We potted a few on but haven't seen my SIL since. They were supposed to visit in the New Year of 2009 when we planned to give them the plants!

You're right about the frangipanni Allan. My friend 'broke' off (not cut) a branch and told me to leave it lying on the ground for a week to dry out, then plant it and it grew well.

Mine was the common cream and I think they are beautiful, but I think the pink are even more beautiful!

Well, I'm going now seeing that the Brits have gone to bed to help make up their hour. So it's ten hours difference this week - then after next Sunday, it will be nine hours!
No wonder they can't keep up with us - I'm having trouble and I live here!

Allan

Allan Report 27 Mar 2010 23:59

Berona, I'll also have to adjust my 'time' thinking.

I'll be two hours behind you next week but nine hours ahead of the Brits.

Enjoy the rest of your day. I hope that it is not too hot in Sydney

Allan - are you sure you got that right? or are you just trying to confuse me?

Until next Sunday, we are now ten hours ahead of the UK and you are seven hours ahead of them.
From next Sunday, we will be nine hours ahead of the UK. How come you will be nine hours ahead of them too?? Don't you mean seven?

You're doing this just to give me a headache, aren't you?

I am posting this at 5:00pm Sunday.

Hello, CC......I haven't an answer for anything you've had to say as interesting as it is:-)) By the time I got to the bottom of Part 3 I'd forgotten all the first bits. Just teasing:-))

I"ve had a pleasant day. A visit from the grandchildren who, as always, are lovely if tiring. They are all into crafts at the moment. They want to make cards, paint and colour in. Lovely but messy. Now the eldest who loves road signs has decided to make his own. So we have different shapes with Stop, Give Way etc. written on them and then glued to ice-cream sticks. All fun:-)) Luckily their mum is good at making them clean up after themselves.

I feel an early night coming on.

Hello Pat,

I'm now confused!

This morning I told berona that in WA we are now 9 hrs ahead of the UK, but of course, you gained an hour which means that we are only 7 ahead ....I think!!!!

Allan

No matter how many times you tell me, I still won't remember Allan, so I will just talk to anyone at any time.
I am not really here,I am just going round changing all the clocks. I was just checking the one on the computer because sometimes it doesn't change. It is five minutes slow,so I will see to that and off I go

You are going to bed early Allan!
I have now done all of the clocks. OH did the analogue ones, but he has no idea how to change the digital ones on the central heating, cooker and microwave. I also remembered to change the mobile (cell) phones as well. although they are supposed to update automatically, they never do.
The clock is now telling me that it is lunch time, but I am not hungry yet,so I will go and potter for a while before eating.
