And I hope you won't be semi - streaking either Berona.

Sorry but I did do a bit of a giggle and I shouldn't as I know it was serious.

Perse ☺

My cousin's doorbell plays the full rendition of "I wish I were in Dixie"

She is a bit slow at getting to the door.

Luckily she lives in a suburb of Melbourne so don't have to play her doorbell very often.

Pat - do you have a doorbell which allows you to choose your 'chime'?

Mine had a few to choose from. I was being very dignified when I chose a plain 'ding dong' but one evening, I was close to the front door and my doorbell started playing 'twinkle twinkle little star'. I immediately opened the door and there was no sign of anyone anywhere. It returned to the ding-dong after that.

I think my doorbell is the common one. The builders just put it up. I said i needed a doorbell and it just goes ding dong!

Did you like the longdrop picture, Berona? I giggled at the thought of your face when you saw it:-))

Hello Colin, Pat, Persey and anyone else that may pop in.

In my previous house, my doorbell had a C type battery in it and I only remember replacing the battery once in forty years!
I have been here only three years and am now on my second doorbell. The first one only rang three or four times before needing a new battery - and this new one is not much better. So much for these modern electronics!

My garage door went up by itself once. So much for security!

We've never had a doorbell. We've never even thought of one for some reason. We have a door knocker - a nice brass one.

I pay $5.40 per prescription. I feel that this is reasonable, but I get annoyed when I am prescribed a dosage of say, 150mg and the tablets are only made in 50 and 100 size. I then have to have two scripts and it costs me double!
I have two medications where this is happening.

Add to other scripts, I am paying out $40-$50 per month for those, but I am paying much more for the patent medicines which the doctor recommends - Vitamin D, Glucosomine, Cramp tablets, etc. I am told to get those from the supermarket and I don't realise what they are costing me until I make a point of calculating it and adding to the scripts!

I have multi vits and minerals tablets. I don't eat a lot of veggies and fruit and I manage ok!
A door knocker Sue. That's sounds posh!
Prescriptions iin the UK are a lot dearer. It's £7.20 .I googled it but you can get deals.

Hi Perse,
What's that about Allan and the soup? Is it magic mushroom soup?

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 30 Mar 2010 11:15

Sorry Pat - I had a senior moment and confused you with Persey. No-one want Allan's soup because he said he serves it from a "tureen" he gets from under the bed. It doesn't bear thinking about.

Sue!!! It's raining here!!! I can actually hear it on my roof. It has been coming down lightly since last night - and enough for me to get wet this morning, as you know - but this if the first time I've heard it on my roof in many months!

Of course! I have to have another blood test at 8:20 tomorrow! Here we go again! At least, I can remain respectably dressed - but again, it's a decision between the walking stick and the umbrella. I think I'll choose the stick to be safe. I'll be coming straight home so I can get changed again if I get wet. Why am I so lucky?

Editted: Oops, sorry Sue - it's stopped again. Went for about five minutes, though. That's promising!

Only raining, Berona - it's absolutely pouring here and I heard thunder earlier.

Your home must be looking very smart Pat. I love buying new things for the house.

I'm off to bed with a book. Good luck tomorrow Berona.

Berona Report 30 Mar 2010 11:30

No I don't Pat. We don't have much need for those. I had to dig deep to find my umbrella - and I know I have two of them - just couldn't remember where I'd left them.

I don't have so far to walk from the car tomorrow. Well, I do - but a lot of it is under cover. I've always hated carrying umbrellas too. I might get out my shoulder bag - that would free up one hand!

Berona

Berona Report 30 Mar 2010 11:35

Good night Sue - thanks for sending Persey's picture.

I'm off now too. I'm not used to being out early in the day, but another test tomorrow has to be done early in order to get the result back same day. Doc is watching the blood count to gauge the dosage so it has to be every few days just for a while. So far, the result has been good, so it will probably all be worth it eventually.

Good night Pat. Sorry, it's the other way around, isn't it? I should be saying 'have a nice day'. Hope it is a warm one for you.
