I n the City of Chester, there is a magical shop that sells nothing but grandfather clocks. The walls of the various rooms are lined with wonderful old clocks. There must be over a hundred.
Whenever I visited the City I could never resist going into that shop.
The best time was when it was coming up to the hour. Many of the clocks would be "going", The noise of all the clocks chiming at once is incredible.

Yes - I know I'm a sad case - but whatever rings your bell - or swings your pendulum!.

You are not sad at all Tec. I love to hear the sound of the grandfather clock ticking away in the background. The fact that it often refuses to tell the correct time doesn't bother me. OH is forever tinkering with it, trying to get it to keep correct time

Good Evening/Morning Everyone,

Linda I have always found the steady tick of a good old clock very satisfying, although I know people who find it extremely irritating.

CC. I will also be making a treck to the charity shop soon. I notice OH is gathering things in bin bags lately - so I assume things are destined for the charity shop- or she is leaving home.
I will also be having a clearout, got some nice things that are not likely to be worn again, so they might as well go for someone else who might wear them - but not that jumper that I've had for ever with the holes in, and frayed sleeves - I'm being buried in that.

My new rose bushes were delivered today, but as it was bitterly cold and snowing I was not inclined to be outside planting them.
The mountains are covered in snow again. This morning we had a gale blowing off the sea, and the sea wall was breached at Llanfairfechan on the North coast, some houses had to be evacuated - the next high tide is at midnight, so I will be thinking of them.
I don't think there will be many tourists around this Easter.

Tec.

Good evening Tec and CC

Tec, the rule is plant one a day!!!!!!!!! Just remember the digging.

Maybe OH is just clearing room in her wardrobe before embarking on a large shopping trip to refill it

Of course he does CC, he even gets hand me ups from our son. He likes looking in the charity shops. I think he is rebelling after having spent all those years smartly dressed at work

Good morning/evening friends. I trust you are all well?

My OH hangs on to old shirts until I can't bear them another minute. I say to him when he finally decides to buy something new that when a new item of clothing comes into the house an old one must go - it doesn't work:-)) I will have a mammoth task when we come back from our holiday of clearing the spare bedroom. I'm hoping to have a built in wardrobe for storage and I know so much stuff will have to be thrown out. It's become a dumping area.

I will have you know you can get some good stuff from charity shops. He has found some designer shirts and posh walking gear.

I am waiting for my daughter to arrive, they are on the way, but ended up leaving later than they intended to They should be here before eleven hopefully.

Hello Diane, When are you coming back? Soon I hope

I am 5'7" Sue, I used to be an inch taller, but old age is shrinking me

Good morning/evening to all

All this talk about clocks reminded me of a simile of which I am fond

"'Till like a clock worn with the beating of time, the weary wheels of life at last stood still"

I am obviously vertically challenged at 5' 71/2". My OH takes after her mother....short: yet our son is about 6' 0"

It must be all the growth hormones in the chicken!!

I've just been reading some of the Threads about the bad weather in the UK.

I hope that Tec and the Duchess are ok and have not been too badly affected!

Bye Linda and Hello Allan:-)

The weather in the UK is quite bad in areas. I also hope that Tec and his Duchess are warm and safe. It'll rain here for sure at Easter - it's traditional:-)

Tecwyn Report 31 Mar 2010 22:46

Bye Linda,
Good Morning Sue,
Goodmorning Allan,
Hi CC,
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~To Diane,
Having spent all my working life having to be immaculate at all times, either in uniform or a suit - it is a pleasure to be scruffy - and now living in a very rural area,I have to "blend" with the natives.
Allan, I think my weary wheels of life are grinding to a halt - I find I don't run about now as I once did.
Tec.
SueMaid Report 31 Mar 2010 22:47
Hello Foggy - how are you? I've just had a look and it's supposed to be mild, partly cloudy with a few showers. By mild I mean 21 to 24 degs.
Good morning to Sue and Foggy
Good evening Tec.
Berona is out and about, having posted on the Home and Away Thread. And, as usual, berating me for passing on information regarding the series as I see it !
Tec, I now assume a mantle of 'dignity' and stroll everywhere, mainly because I am also no longer capable of running.
Unless it's after the girls , or, more likely, away from my OH when I have doen something to upset her!!
