The Duchess can't catch me with a rolling pin Allan, or anything else, but she has always had perfect aim with a heavy object.

Hi, Tec - we go next Wednesday. I don't think I'll be sea sick. I've been on a number of ships large and small and not even a tremor in the tummy. Never been on a ship this big but I don't anticipate any problems. I'm getting excited now.

Sue, You'll have a wonderful time - if I could choose a cruise that would be the one, and I think I've done them all.

Guarantee you'll be three dress sizes bigger when you get back. LOL.

Talking of sea sickness, I've never been a good sailor.

Once, to my embarrassment, I actually got sea sick on a ship which was actually berthed at the time.

Not a good sight for someone doing Port Health Duties.

It was a very stormy day and the vessel Was moving up and down on the swell inside the port. All I could see were the buildings outside rising and falling!

Allan, I've often seen people sea sick while the ship was still tied up, it's not unusual

Having spent years at sea, and only sick a few times in extreme weather, like typhoons, and hurricanes. I was once sea sick on a very small pleasure boat on the Menai Straits off Anglesea - OH was hysterical and went on about it for years.

Berona Report 31 Mar 2010 23:30

I'm finally here as people are leaving! I slept late but had a good night after early appointments three days in a row...then I called into the H&A thread and made a comment - then the computer decided to misbehave!

I'm still not happy about all this running around to strange places - most of which have no parking facilities, so I downloaded an RTA form for a parking permit. Left it with the doc but she wouldn't complete it until I get a statement from the optometrist! I did that six months ago when I renewed my licence. I had a full test and bought new glasses and the examiner told me to 'come back in 2 years' .....but no, not good enough. I have to get it filled in again for the parking permit! Then, it's back to the doc's and I will pick it up next week, then take it to the RTA. Why the statement they gave me for the licence isn't good enough, I don't know.

Tec, strange things happen!

On the day of Diana and Charles's wedding I had to travel out to a ship carrying ammunition. The ship required a new deratting certificate but because of the cargo was not allowed into port.

I travelled out to the ship with the dockers in a small ferry and stayed on the ship all morning doing the various inspections necessary, and even though I could feel the motion of the ship, I was fine!

Hello, Berona - all red tape unfortunately. For all the new technology the different offices and departments still can't communicate with each other.

I must be off to start my day. Enjoy your day/evening and I'll talk to you all soon.

Good Morning Berona,

It is frustrating isn't it - but the whole world is one big paperchase - it keeps all the pen pushers and rubber stampers in work.

Allan Report 31 Mar 2010 23:39

Absolutely not Tec, but we wont let that stop us.

Hello Berona. It's bureaucracy gone mad! That is why I have now decided not to apply for a low income health care card.

The information which I have to suppl is just too onerous. For example, because I am a sole trader registered on the Australian Business Register, I have to suppl a Profit and Loss Statement, a Trial Balance sheet and a list of my 'company's' assets and liabilities.

I've never done a Profit and Loss statement or a Balance sheet as there has never been a need.

The only reason I am on the reister is to have an ABN which all local governments require you to have before they do business with you.

I'm off to bed again as it's getting late and as the heating has gone off the temperature is rapidly crashing in here.

So have fun and enjoy your day Allan and Berona,

Goodnight Diane and anyone else around,

Tec.
