Sue, I'll make no comments on the morality of the situation, but there is certainly no justification for any of the nasty comments posted.

There is a suggestion that the State Government will not actively pusue repayment of the loan

Well it will be interesting to see what happens but I don't think the public will find out. I really can't comment on that because I'm not sure where I stand.

Good night Tec. Hope you and the duchess stay warm and sleep well.

We will have to sort out these time differences to be able to talk more!

Berona, it may make a slight difference when Daylight Saving finishes on Sunday.

Sue - back to the young mother. The fact that the baby was dressed and wrapped, then left on a doorstep where he would be found easily, shows the mother cared about him - perhaps didn't want to part with him.

I always feel that there is a certain amount of shock involved with having a first baby - and that's for those of us who have medics and family around us. To be in a situation where she has to go through it all alone for the first time must be horrific for her.

Yes Allan it will. It will make it even harder for us!
The Brits will be going to bed as we are getting up!

Better set the alarm!

It's a good job I'm up at 3.00am !

Even on those days when I don't walk, I'm usually up around 4.30 am

Hello again - my computer was doing a scan and as that slows the computer down I find it annoying so made the bed, washed some dishes and watered my pots:-))

Welcome back Sue

I had a message just before on my screen saying that my Virtual memory was too low and the system was remedying the situation.

I've never seen that one before!

Hello all, although I thing the Brits are going to bed.
Allan, I used to get that message. Not sure what it means but I think it could be Microsoft telling you it's time to get a new computer.
Re tha baby left on the doorstep, the mother may need medical attention and certainly needs help of some kind. Some people (possibly rednecks) are calling for a law to make what she did illegal.
Re the young WA woman who needed a second liver transplant. I heard the story only a couple of weeks ago and don't know what to think. Do we know for sure that it was her heroin use that caused the first transplant to fail? Even if so, I always have some sympathy for heroin users. Like alcohol, it is often used to take away emotional pain. On the other hand I have no time for cocaine or amphetamine users. These drugs are stimulants that it seems are used by rich b***ds for thrills.
No, I am not trying to be provocative.
There seems to be a bun fight on the chat board. Holiday must have started.

G'day Colin

I'll stick with the computrer I've got! I'll see if I get the message again and if I do I'll nip into mylocal shop for some advice

The young lady from WA went back to heoin use after her first transplant. Her transplant failure was put down by the medicos to continued drug use. The press obviously sensationalised that aspect, but, as I say, the initial report was a medical one.

If I don't 'see' you before, Colin, may you and your family have a safe and happy Easter

Hello Allan, many thanks for your Easter greetings and the same to you, Mrs Allan and the family.
Easter greetings to all. Especially the lovely lady who started this thread and keeps it nice and friendly - if she is still around.

Hello Colin. Happy Easter to you and your good lady too!

Allan - I often get that message and just ignore it. I've had this computer for eight years now and I think the upgrades are gradually getting a bit much for it. It sometimes get its knickers in a knot and when I receive an email with a link in it, it takes so long to connect, I go away and come back again - but even then, it often bombs out. I believe I may just need an upgrade of the memory. However, I know that it will get the better of me one day and I will just go out and buy a new one!

Hello CC - I love teasing you:-))

Happy Easter to you all. Thank you Colin.

What are you all doing anything for Easter? I've invited my mum over for lunch on Sunday and my daughter, partner and children are coming over on Sunday afternoon. Apart from that we will be getting ready for our holiday.

Hello everyone:-) I found us on Page 3. Never been a Page 3 girl before.

I may miss most of you as I'm babysitting for a couple of hours this morning. Daughter and partner are both working and the children's father doesn't like getting out of bed early so I sometimes sit with them until he comes over to pick them up. Hopefully I'll be back in time to chat.

I've a lazy day at my sister's. I went to a Good Friday service in the afternoon. It's a nice way to sppend a Friday.

Good morning Sue,
Good Evening Pat,

Have fun babysitting Sue, I'm sure the little people will keep you busy.

Glad you enjoyed your lazy day Pat, and the Good Friday Service - I hope the heating was on in the church.

I managed to get three of my roses planted in between showers, and hailstones. I was very cold out there, so I was glad to get indoors. Sunday is supposed to be nice, so hopefully will get the rest planted then.

Been doing more research on my tree this afternoon.
Working on OHs tree, she has her grandmothers cousin, born in a small village in North Wales, yet in 1915 he appears in somewhere called Mile in Queensland Australia - joined the Australian Army, aged 29, and sailed from Brisbane for Gallipoli - he was unfortunately killed in action at the Somme in July 1918.

Now I am intriqued to know -
When did he go to Australia? est between 1906-1912.
What ship did he travel on?
Did he leave a wife, and family in Queensland?

I may never know, but will try to find out - sad, but interesting.

Tec.
