Allan have you seen Polly's post on General? Apparently her family reunion went very well. I'm so pleased for her.

Just wondering where our Persey is and we haven't seen Carole for awhile either. I sent an email to Janet but haven't heard back so I'm a little concerned for her after the bad storm in Perth.

I bought some Berona, but only because they were reduced in tesco's. I didn't have one, but they are all gone. Oh and daughter kept eating them. No wonder she has a fat tum.

I haven't been around much for the last few days Sue, so I hadn;t realised the others were missing. perhaps they are just busy wit hit being Easter

Yes Linda. I'm enjoying the break. I have appointments for Tuesday and Wednesday and whatever comes out of them, but I'm really enjoying these four days, knowing that I don't have to get up and go to one of them!

I've noticed that the Poms refer to holidays as 'bank holiday'. We have a 'bank holiday' in August, although it's not what we call a 'public holiday' as it is only a holiday for the finance industry - banks, insurance co's, etc. All other days such as Christmas/Boxing days, New Year's Day, Good Friday/Easter Sunday and various other days are referred to as 'Public holidays'.

All the statutory public holidays are bank holidays Berona

They are Christmas Day, Boxing Day, Good Friday, New years Day, Easter Monday, May Day and Spring Bank Holiday (end of May), August Bank Holiday.

The banks are closed on those days and everyone is entitled to them on top of the other holidays they get. Of course some people do work in shops etc, but you normally got extra pay for doing that

Perse has probably gone out dancing - the boot is off. I was wanting to know if their clocks went back same day as ours. Once I know the answer to that, I can work out where we all stand as far as time goes!

You're right Allan - I haven't seen SusanWA for awhile.

Re hot cross buns - we have some but I think the children will eat them. OH and son aren't too keen and every time I look at them I put on a kilo. We've requested no chocolate from the family but our daughter usually gives us a token chocolate egg or bunny. It can sit for ages in the fridge.

Speaking of Hot Cross Buns the Easter Bread, or Paska, turned out OK, although slightly dry.

So next time I will just increase the milk slightly as well as the melted butter and it should be fine.

I enjoyed baking it and the inside of the car, on a sunny day, makes an ideal Proving Oven!

Clever you, Allan. I never thought of the car being a good "proving oven". I wouldn't mind having a go at baking bread again. It's years since I've had a go. Wasn't a great success.

I think I'm going to be in trouble on here. I made a comment on a "joke" thread that the jokes were crude and unnecessary. Now someone has put up a thread asking who got it "whooshed". It wasn't me but I did make the point that the jokes were tasteless. I don't mind a good joke but vulgarity isn't pleasant.
