Good morning/evening all

Carole, It's good to hear from you again. Your son had a bit of bad luck hitting the 'roo. My son did that a year or so ago when he was travelling to Perth. The damage didn't seem much but was costly to repair. Fortunately he was insured.

SusanWA, it is also good to hear from you! I'm glad that your storm damage was minimal. In Australind the storm was nowhere as severe as it was in Perth, just heavy rain and no hail.

CC we have kangaroos which come onto the front garden: I've also seen them at the local shopping centre. Very early mornings before the centre is open, I would add.

I am now H'ors de Combat after preparing yesterday's repast. OH had just nipped down the road to see her friend and wish her a Happy Easter, I had put the potatoes in to roast, together with the leg of lamb, and started to prepare the other vegies.

Started tp peel the pumpkin with a peeler I hadn't used before and not the usual single blade.

Next thing, I had peeled a chunk out of my left index finger near the tip. Blood everywhere. It took me ages to get the bleeding under control, and had to phone OH and ask her to come home.

Imagine the sight that greeted her: me with my arm in the air like a schoolkid keen to answer a question, blood down my arm and the kitchen looking as though I had only just slaughtered the lamb that was in the oven!

Well, a slight exageration, but I did bleed like a stuck pig.

Still, dinner was nice.

Silly Allan, was the pumpkin an unusual red colour when you ate it?

Hello all:-))

You're a silly billy, Allan. Hope you're ok now. Still - if the dinner was nice it was worth it:-))

Hi Linda - did you have a nice day today? It must've been lovely to see your daughter's growing bump.

My daughter left yesterday Sue, so we just had a quiet day. We went for a walk, at the third attempt. On the first two occasions, just as we were about to leave, the heavens opened.

It was nice to see the bump Sue, she kept telling me that she didn't look pregnant, but there is no doubting it now. She is due on July 23rd ish. They have a short list of names, but are going to wait until she is born to decide which one to use

I'm here - better late than never! It usually takes me a good week to get used to the time changes.

Hello Tec, Linda and CC - I'm getting in there before you go off for the night! and hello to those who are just starting their Monday. It's a Public holiday - so no Mondayitis!

I hope that you didn't do too much damage Allan. I just about sliced the top off my finger with a can top. That was when i was fifteen and to this day, it hurts if I press on the end of that finger, I must have damaged the nerve endings

Well OK, I didn't slice it off, but it was a very bad cut

Well, I can't forget that date, Linda. It's my grandson's birthday on 23rd July. My research shows that my gr/grandfather had that birthday too and my grandson was born on the 150th anniversary. (1845; 1995).

Good orning Berona and Sue

I trust that you had a good day yesterday.

Ok bad luck comes in threes: now my keyboard is playing up. Not all the keystrokes are appearing on the screen. 'M' and 'C' are the most annoying examples but others are following suit!!

Berona, it has really been great in WA without haing to adjust our locks. I was listening to a programme yesterday wher someone in Queensland was saying that Queensland, NT and WA should be "forced" to have daylight saving as it was suh a good thing.

In WA there have been 3 referendums in the last 20 years, everyone of which rejected daylight saving!

Hello/goodbye Berona. I am just off to bed now. i haven't been here long, but I have been sewing some of the quilting while I have been watching TV.

I think Tec said that his daughter was coming today,so he will have been on family duty. Have a good bank holiday down under.

Allan - so sorry you came to blows with the peeler. It's a good thing you didn't decide to become a butcher. I've known a few of them in the past, who could only count up to nine!
Glad to know it hasn't stopped you from typing.

Berona, it was bad enough doing Meat Inspection as part of my duties when I was working.

I put myself in hospital for 48 hrs after giving myself blood poisoning!!

I cut through some pig guts and my finger at the same time....not to be recommended

As for typing, I've always been a two finger typist and use the second finger on both hands :0))

Hello Berona - hope you had a lovely weekend. Hard to think of today as a holiday when all the stores are open.

Goodnight Linda - sleep tight.

Good night Linda. I suppose I've missed her again!

Sue - Unless it's Christmas Day or Good Friday, every day is the same as the other as far as the stores are concerned.

And why, when the shops are open for as long as they are, are they so crowded, and people stocking up as though the shops were to be closed for a month?

Yes, I have had a lovely weekend. One son set up his webcam and I had a long conversation with Master 3 and another son and DIL visited and helped to eat up the goodies. I'm hoping for more visitors to-day to help eat the rest of them. I've already eaten more than I should.

The remainder of the family are up at the river enjoying what is usually the last of the skiing season - although the way the weather has been in recent years, they could have continued through the winter! Last year, they were still going on the June holiday weekend and back again in September.

That was me - posted twice, although I don't think I did it! This site seems to 'jump' each time they 'freeze' the top to put another ad up there. It happens when I'm typing too - and quite often leaves off the first letter of words - so Allan, it might not be your keyboard. As I deleted the second post, the whole things jumped back to page one of the thread and I know I didn't do that!

Allan

Allan Report 5 Apr 2010 00:12

Berona, I hadn't noticed that, but the missing letters only started recently!

My OH also uses this computer on a regular basis so I will check with her to see if there have been any similar problems

I have only noticed it recently Allan. They seem to be using more and more quick ads, and the page moves smoothly while the ads are showing, but as they change, the page sticks and freezes momentarily. 'Friends' is doing it too, only their response time is much slower - frustratingly slow!
