Berona

Berona Report 6 Apr 2010 00:44

Well, I'm off to keep an appointment with my new heart specialist. Not very happy about it. When I went before, he said he would write to my GP as he wanted her to put me on Warfarin ASAP. I went to her and she read his letter - which said nothing about Warfarin - so she had to ring him. Can't remember what for, but she had to ring him a second time, so I don't know what he put in the letter!
The GP passed me over to her partner, who seems to have had a lot of experience in this field and knows what he is doing, but I still have to go back to the specialist to-day, but I don't know why?
No wonder our health system is up the creek! It doesn't cost me much. He charges $145 to sit there and nod his head, then send a letter. The government then reimburses me with $121, so I'm not complaining about my cost - just the running around keeping appointments (and the cost to the Govt).. Another BT coming up tomorrow and often until my GP is satisfied with the prescribed dosage - then less often, but regularly to monitor it - but I'll bet the specialist tells me to come back again!

Berona, I know the feeling! :o((

Sue, What, or who, is happening on the other Thread.....not the one started by you, but the most recent.

It sounds like the usual rubbish but it is only the beginning of the week, not the end!

Good afternoon all:-)

Sue, if I don't catch up with you before hand - I hope you and your hubby have a lovely time on your cruise, enjoy yourselves - I know you will:-)))))
I will look forward to hearing all about it when you return to us xx

Well the car went to the repairers this morning, so we will have to wait and see?
Berona, I'll just say the kangaroo didn't fair too well, if you know what I mean:-) or :-(
My boy is well, though he told me this morning that he is a bit sore around his stomach muscles (his words were 'my abbs are sore, mum')??
We had a spare car in the garage, so he is back on the road with that until his is fixed - lucky, as we were going to sell it but hadn't got around to it yet.

We are off to see Jimeion tonight in Melbourne, its titled "Something smells funny" I'm looking forward to a good larf, my abbs will probably be aching in the morning - hope soooo!!!!!

Keep smilin!! where's Janet?????

Thanks for asking CC. I'm happy to report that I'm a much happier old girl since my visit to the heart specialist this morning. After sending me in for an ultrasound, he was able to give me a good report and that I only have a 'flutter' (whatever that is). I'm to continue on the Warfarin in conjunction with my BP meds which I've been taking the same dosage of for forty years - all as a preventative measure to avoid a stroke. Now that my heart has been eliminated from the list of suspects, we are back to thinking as we did originally - that my cramp attack in December was caused by the drop in dosage of my thyroid medication. So it WAS withdrawal symptoms which I suffered! Nobody has said that yet, but that's what it looks like. I'm happy just to know that I don't have to see that specialist any more - that's one to cross off the list!

Hello Allan and Berona.

Allan - I've sent you a PM.

Berona - I'm so glad you can rule out heart problems. Looks like it was the meds after all. Is it raining where you are? It's been pouring here on and off all day. Hope it's brighter tomorrow.

Hi Sue - I came back here when I saw you were around on another thread. No sun out to-day, but no sign of rain as yet, although very overcast.

I came back to wish you Bon Voyage. I hope you and your OH have a lovely cruise. Take notes, so that you can be Cruise Director of our Chat Board Cruise.

Enjoy yourselves!!!!

Allan - 'nil carborundum illegitimus' - sounds interesting.

I'm going now. My screen freezes each time GR changes their ad at the top of the page. I'll come back when I get over my frustration!!!

Good afternoon everyone

Just a quick update on my search for Dawn and Stephen Carr. I found a group on Facebook for their children's school. Left a message saying I was looking for them and when I got up this morning there was a friend request from Dawn !! Busy catching up via E mail at the moment.

Many thanks to Allan for the possible contacts.

The power of Google and the net never ceases to surprise me.

I am off down the Quay with my grand daughter soon to see the birdys and the boats. Beautiful day here in Conwy.

Conwy, Libby? I've been there and I absolutely loved it. The castle, the town are just beautiful. Do I remember you saying awhile back that you can see the castle from your house? I'm soooo pleased that you've made contact. I hope you have many happy hours chatting with your friend.

I have been to Conwy as well.

We are going out soon, we are going to have a short drive to Knaresborough and have a walk by the river and have a spot of lunch.
