Berona's comment was not harsh or cutting - just realistic.
I think I was of athletic build in those days, and while not overweight now, I could hardly be described of athletic build.
The foundations have settled, and I've shrunk by one and half inches in height.........where does it go?

Good night/good morning all. I'm going to get some housework done. No appointments to-day. I thought I was finished with them for a while - but GP rang yesterday and said my blood is TOO thin now, so changed me again and wants to do another BT on Monday! My luck! Talk later.

Hello all:-)

I forgot to tell you all about the show we saw in Melbourne on Tuesday night.
We went to see Jimeoin - We were shown to our seats, I began whinging as soon as we sat down as our seats were right up the back of the theatre. Around 10 minutes later the usherette came along and asked us if we would like to move closer, I jumped up immediately and said 'YES PLEASE'
Well, would you believe we were sat in the second row from the front!!!!!
We had a great night, with loads of laughs, he was very funny:-))
Persey, You would have loved it - he did a skit about the Haka, I thought of you and cackled myself laughing:-))

It looks like we are in for more rain this evening, its grey and gloomy out.

Waves to Diane~~~~~~~~

Hello Carole, I am glad that you enjoyed the show. It is a coupl of years since we went to any live theatre. We used to go to see comedians in York when my son still lived at home, but since he left,we haven't bothered.

It is a lovely sunny morning here, still cold and spring like, but at least sunny. All the plants have sprung into life and things are beginning to green up. It is nice to see some flowers appearing in the garden as well. The bright colours make a nice change after the bad winter we have had.

I'm not expecting anyone to jump up and down with excitement - but I did get rather excited today.

For those that don't know, I am something of a Twitcher.

That is not to say I have some sort of nervous affliction - but I've had a lifelong interest in birds (feathered ones Allan).

We very rarely get goldfinches here - just the odd one occassionally. This morning I looked out at the garden, and to my amazement, there was a whole flock of goldfinches on and around my bird feeders - I counted 15, but I think there were more in the magnolia tree.
The other day I saw a Marsh Tit, that is unusual too. We also get buzzards and red kites regularly that come down of the mountain to hunt.

Well that was my excitement - it doesn't take much.

Well I know what to get you for Christmas Tec, the ladybird bird spotters book

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 8 Apr 2010 22:17

That's so kind of you Linda - thankyou.
Actually, I really liked the Ladybird books - pretended to buy them for my daughter - what a simple soul I am.

Popping off to make a sandwich - won't be long.

Good evening/morning one and all,

Tec, there was once a time when I could get excited by birds. How times have changed!

Linda, would you please buy me the Ladybird Wheelie Bin Spotter's book for Christmas.

Hello to Diane, if you are looking in.

CC many thanks for the tip. Will I now be able to type with a French accent??

Ah, mais oui, I zink so: je ne sais pas!

Of course you can have that book Allan, but are you sure it won't be too advanced? There is a Janet and John version as well

Allan

Allan Report 8 Apr 2010 22:37

LindainHerriotCountry Report 8 Apr 2010 22:39

Yes you can have Spot the Dog, there are actually several Spot the Dog books, if you behave while sue is away, you can have all of them

LindainHerriotCountry Report 8 Apr 2010 22:48

I think that Tec must have gone to make a three course meal, not just a sandwich, on the other hand he may be so hopeless in the kitchen, that it does take all this time to accomplish a simple task

I don't know where the other ladies are, but i am tired,so am off to bed. I am loathe-to leave Allan and Tec on their own. You will both have to be on your best behaviour.

Good Morning Allan,

Can't believe you've lost interest in birds - how sad.
I shall look out for the Wheelie Bin Spotters Hand Book.

I learnt to read with Janet and John - and fell hopelessly in love with the teacher..........

My bird watching in the tranquility of my garden was short lived this morning. The parents of one of my neighbours always arrive by helicopter when they visit. They land in the field behind my garden. What a racket - and it sits there warming up for ever before it leaves.
Why can't they come by bus or train?

Tec.
