Berona

Berona Report 9 Apr 2010 00:34

Your forecast is very familiar to me, Allan. I have taken to leaving my computer on all night, but if storms are forecast, I don't leave it on. Then, they don't happen! Oh well, turning it off every few nights does allow it to download any upgrades.

I have changed my login to come into GR via the Australian site and it seems to go much smoother, with less ads (Aust. ads) - but then I go over to Friends for a quick visit - then come back again, and find that I have the UK address in my browser and it jumps around again!

I can't stay on Friends for long without getting frustrated at the amount of ads flashing everywhere and freezing the screen as they are changed - also the response time is so slow, even going from one page to the next. I don't have this with any other site.

Allan Report 9 Apr 2010 00:48

Berona, I don't use 'Friends' much, but like you, I have found it very slow to load anything when I am on there.

We now always turn all our electrical equipment off when going to bed. We leave it plugged in unless threats of a storm but turn everything else of at the wall. It saves on power!

Good morning from sunny up top.

It is a lovely day and the forecast for the weekend is positively warm,it may even reach 15 degrees tomorrow.

Janet, It is so good to see you back, your timing is excellent because Sue has just gone away on a cruise and we do need to keep an eye on "those two". I am glad that you suffered no major damage

Berona, you are a wastrel, leaving the computer on. I have my whole system connected to a power down socket,so when I close the computer down, it switches off all the peripherals all by itself. We switch, the TV system off at night, in fact everything. the only things consuming electricity overnight are the kitchen appliances, central heating boiler and burglar alarm. My daughter bought us an energy meter, it monitors exactly how much electricity we are using. It is extremely interesting to see what happens as each appliance is switched on.

good morning Linda

*Log Book*

15 months castaway on this strange Island; still no rain!

The mice seem even larger and are bouncing everywhere.

I once bought a stuffed toy for my daughter and was told that it was based on a mythical bear from these parts!

Bears now in the trees all over.

They make an excellent drink, coca koala

Ah what a strange place this is

Good morning Linda, evening Allan:-)

I'm glad you are having nice weather Linda, though, 15 sounds cold to me. I had to don a jumper today, first time this year, I was soo cold!!
We had more rain today, its starting to get darker earlier, so winters coming:-(

Lovely to see you post again Janet, I have been wondering how you were, I'm glad you didn't suffer major damage in those storms:-))
My two cherubs are back to School on Monday, these two weeks have flown by fast!!

The prospect of being subjected to another month of electioneering by these buffoons who would be our leaders is enough to drive a man to drink.

Therefore should anyone want me, you'll find me at the pub.

lechyd Da,

You will find me with a nice glass of aussie red tec

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 9 Apr 2010 21:10

That's fine Linda,

You with your Aussie Red, me with my G&Ts lined up.

We could research our trees until we could no longer feel our legs..
Wide eyed and legless again.

We would find some very interesting ancestors between us.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 9 Apr 2010 21:15

I have been researching my tree tonight, but not getting very far. I have a few brick walls which I fear I will never overcome despite all the efforts I have made.

I don't like G&T, so your bottle is safe from me

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 9 Apr 2010 21:21

Well if you can't break down those brick walls, nobody can. But don't give up - one day everything will be revealed - that's what I keep telling myself.

I have a contact who was so frustrated she resorted to consulting a spirtualist medium..........how ridiculous.

I hope I never get to that stage.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 9 Apr 2010 21:36

lol, I will never get to that stage Tec, It is annoying though wnen you can't sort something out.

It has been a lovely day here. OH has been decorating again,so I took myself out and did a spot of clothes shopping and no it was not in Tesco's

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 9 Apr 2010 21:48

Been a lovely day here too - great to see the shrubs and things turning green.
I think I might go shopping for some summer clothes. I need some casual tops, and new lightweight trousers too.
Depends how OH is, because we have to travel a long way to decent shops.
Then I'll probably end up waiting for hours outside ladies shops with the dog, and come home with nothing because there wasn't time lol.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 9 Apr 2010 22:04

I am lucky because it is only half an hour to York, or half an hour to Teesside. I went to Teesside today and bought four spring/summer tops. I don't like going with OH because he stands outside shops looking fed up.He doesn't understand the concept of shopping female style

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 9 Apr 2010 22:07

Why do females disappear into a shop for half the day, then eventually emerge empty handed, and announce........

"There's nothing in there"

so what were you looking at?............................

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 9 Apr 2010 22:09

We were looking at the shapes and styles and trying lots of things on,so that when we come across the perfect garment,we will know it. Or in my case, trying things on in the vain hope that I will find something to fit corrrectly

CC, if you pop in, I now have the character map on my start menu......all I have to do is learn how to use it!!

Well, if all we are going to chat about is retail therapy, I might just go and cause problems on another thread, if I can find one. :0))

I might just visit the Home and Away thread
