I'm calm and at peace with the world every morning.

As I put the coffee on I look at the reproduction of the wartime poster in the shape of a tea towel that my daughter turned up with, and I've framed......

it says in bold lettering " STAY CALM - AND CARRY ON"

So that's what I do..........all day long - regardless!

Tec

Allan Report 9 Apr 2010 22:43

I 'carry on' as well Tec, usually brought to an abrupt halt by my OH whacking me over the head with a rolled up newspaper :0))

Tecwyn Report 9 Apr 2010 22:53

Must admit, I do "carry on" sometimes, especially if someone upsets me.
Go about for hours muttering and chundering to myself.

The only time OH gets worried is when I walk about with an unexplained smile on my face - she gets nervous then.

Tec.

Allan Report 9 Apr 2010 23:03

Oh dear, Tec, I hope that you don't go on for hours chundering!!

Chunder is the aussie slang for vomit.

I suspect the word you should have used is 'chuntering' :0))

lol

Never heard the expression chuntering - only chundering.

You really do live on a strange island - Giant mice on springs that have in- built pouches for their babies.
Ducks with fur, and four feet,
Moles with beaks,
Cute little bears that are not bears at all,

and strange expressions too :))

It's all down to the heat, Tec,!

And of course genetics!

I'm off to bed now,
So enjoy your day Allan, and anyone else Down Under who may follow.
Goodnight Linda - sleep well.

I've been off checking on you, Allan - and now I've missed Tec. Sorry Tec - this time difference is annoying. Hope you and the duchess sleep well and keep warm.

Well - at least there is only one of you, Allan, even though your predictions for H&A are all wrong. I think you should apply for the job of script writer - the characters would at least speak better English than they do at the moment!

Allan

Huh wazat?

Good morning Berona :0))

There is still no rain in sight over here

Berona,

I tried that tip that CC gave regarding the character map, and it worked on my system.

I'm running Windows XP Professional edition

Berona Report 9 Apr 2010 23:56

I'll try again Allan but it could be because I am running XP Home Edition. Another reason for upgrading!

Allan

Allan Report 10 Apr 2010 00:06

Berona,

When I upgraded my system, almost four years ago, I decided that I would get the best possible system that I could as I was going to use it for my business.

As it transpired I only did minimal business work on it as I found that my business went in a slightly different direction to what was originally intended.

However, I have absolutely no regrets about paying out the extra at the time.

Hello CC

What a perspicacious person you are! :0))

I await your daily missives with eager anticipation.

As a scriptwriter for home and away, I would not use crayon as I have been taking lessons and now can use a pencil without sticking the pointy end in my eye.

I have also mastered the art of 'joined-up' writing.

Hmmm, perhaps I'm too advanced for Home and Away!

CC I was merely showing you that I know the pointy end from the blunt end.

I can also do that with a boat, but I wont point it at you :0))

Alas, try as hard as she might, my OH has failed to increase my IQ.

She only continues because she enjoys it :0)

It certainly leaves an imprint.

I have offered to iron it to dry the printer's ink but to no avail.

Gives a new meaning to reading one's mind!!
