Good evening Allan,I gather you think it is school playtime again. What are you going to play tonight?

Don't think I haven't seen you on the Games thread

Good Morning Allan,

How are you today? have you been out walking and talking to the wheelie bins?

Should I hear that you've been held against your will on any thread, then I will of course notify your green friends, and the offending thread will be taken by storm in order to secure your early release.

We won't tolerate that sort of nonsense.

I went with my daughter to a huge reclaimation yard last year. It was really good - can't remember what it's called now.
I love poking around those places - we haven't got any here, the Duchess is so relieved about that lol.

Good evening Linda, either noughts and crosses or battleships: some thing that can be played whilst Teacher is writing on the blackboard. (Now I am showing my age) :0))

Good evening Tec, have no fear, there is no thread strong enough to bind me!

I have been out walking but as it is now much cooler overnight, the wheelie bins tend to hudddle together for warmth!

Did you build marble runs inside your desk Allan?

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 10 Apr 2010 22:37

Allan,
Teachers used to have those blackboard cleaners, heavy felt things with wooden backing, that they could hurl at you with amazing accuracy - usually hit you between the eyes.
I'm sure Linda never did that though - I bet she was a pussy cat of a teacher lol.

No Linda, but at High School a favourite trick was to cut the head off a match, nick the end of the matcstick and place a stiff piece of paper in the nick as a flight and then tie a pin to the other end of the matchstick.

They made fantastic little darts, and could travel a fair distance. They really stung when they hit your neck!

I was fortunate: I sat in the back row!!

No I didn't throw the board rubber Tec, banging it down on the child's desk was far more effective, especially when it needed cleaning. No I wasn't a pussy cat,I was very strict, but fair at the same time.

Tec, I bet Linda used THE LOOK :0))

That sounds viscous Allan. At one stage,we used to have the old fashioned desks with the ink wells and the hinged lids. We used to arrange the books inside so that when you dropped a marble down the ink well, it took as long as possible to make it's way to the bottom end

LindainHerriotCountry Report 10 Apr 2010 22:46

I did use THE LOOK Allan and it was extremely effective, in fact, I am looking straight into the web cam now

Allan

Allan Report 10 Apr 2010 22:49

Linda, the last time I had a desk like that was at Primary school.

If you think that the pins were vicious, in the Science Rooms the seats were only stools but with a slit in the middle of the seat.

It was amazing the damage you could cause with a ruler and a stealthy step.

It still brings tears to my eyes and makes me want to adopt the foetal position!

And this time I was on the receiving end as well as the administering thereof :0))

You would not have been doing that in my lab, I assure you Allan!

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 10 Apr 2010 22:53

It would indeed Tec, but it was necessary to control a lab full of Allans

Allan

Allan Report 10 Apr 2010 22:58

Linda, our Physics Master was as deaf as a post, that was why we were able to get away with it !!

A Lab full of Allans.....it doesn't bear thinking about

Hiyo Silver.....the Clone Arranger

No that would be in Biology not Physics Allan

My science master was raving mad - a diminuitive figure, about 5ft, and very thin. The classes was built around a cloister with gardens - if he spotted a butterfly in the garden, he would grab his net and go rushing out into the garden to hunt the butterfly. The lesson was completely forgotten.
