We're big boys now Linda - we can be safely left you know :)))

Tec, it seems cruel now, but I sill have a quiet laugh.

The Physics Master wore hearing aids, and some of the lads would put up their hands as if to ask a question.

When he asked what they wanted, they would move their lips but not actually say anything.

He would adjust his hearing aid, thinking that there was something wrong with it, whereupon the lad would shout out the question at the top of his voice.

The look on the Master's face was priceless.

However, only the most hardy dared this venture as it always resulted in a trip to the Headmaster's Office!

Good evening and good morning everyone! Heavens! a temperature of 18! That's actually a decent temp! I'm so pleased for you - no wonder you got stuck into the garden!
Ours was 28 yesterday with the same forecast again to-day and any gardening will need to be done before it gets up to that.

A lab full of Allans! Perish the thought! Anywhere full of Allans is frightening for anyone who may be left in charge of them!

I'm house-bound again. This time, it's the 'other legs' - my car. I have lost my power-steering and can't use the car until my mechanic fixes it, so son is taking it out to him on Monday. With more appointments still to be kept, I'm now relying on the family to get me there - and I hate 'using' people. So I'm back to being cranky again!

Yes Tec, and either today or tomorrow, I'm going to start a thread asking Susanwithnumbers to "Please Explain!"

Oh good Berona, you are here. I am sorry to hear that you are cranky, but on the other hand, that will do nicely to keep the "boys" in line. I hope that your car is repaired quickly and is not too expensive

i must go to bed as I am very tired. Goodnight everyone

Berona Report 10 Apr 2010 23:23

Yes, Linda - you can sleep with ease now. I'm not in the mood for any nonsense! Good night - sleep well.

You heard it, boys. Never mind trying to remember your schoolboy pranks - I'm awake to you!

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 10 Apr 2010 23:24

I think Susanwithnumbers owes you an explaination Allan,

Good Morning Berona - Don't be cranky, I'm sure the family are only too happy to help - car trouble happens to us all at times.
We tend to take our car for granted, until we haven't got the use of it. I would be completely stuck without mine living in the middle of nowhere.

It was brilliant having such a warm day today - to be outside without a jacket was great.

Good morning Berona.

I'm sorry to hear that your car is paying up. I hope that it doen't take too long to fix.

When I think about the schoolboy pranks, and such questions as "Do you want to be a landowner? Well here's two achers!" I'm suprised that I was able to have a family :0))

The joys of an all boys school!!!

Allan, That was indeed a cruel thing to do to your deaf master, but a brilliant wheeze all the same - I love it.

Just checked the Greaders thread on Gen and they are waiting for us all to vote on which two books to read. I need to check on their availability in this country before I can vote so had better go and do that.
I don't seem to have been here long - but I'll look in again later. Sleep well, Brits and have a good day if your day is young!

down on page 3 again, this won't do.

What a lovely day and a busy one. We spent the morning putting pictures and curtains etc back in the hall. We have a problem with tiny black weevils which get inside all the pictures and sit on the mounts. I had to take all the backs off the pictures and clean them out.

This afternoon we have been to the allotment. OH planted his potatoes and I set lots of different seeds going in the greenhouse. there were lots of other people there, so it was nice to have a natter and a catch up with our "neighbours"

Afternoon Linda and everyone.

It certainly has been a glorious weekend weather wise and I expect many of us on this side of the pond have been making the most of it. You would think we had never seen the sun before the way we go on lol. This is just the temperature I like, not to hot and not to cold. I hope it stays like it long enough to finish the garden.

I was just wondering

Do any of the Ozzies go for meets? Have any of you met each other?. As you can read on other threads, quite a few went to a meet and a great time was had by all. Am I jealous and did I wish I went? Yep! .............I wonder how long it will take before they get over it sigh!.....

Susan who wishes she went to the meet :-((((

LindainHerriotCountry Report 11 Apr 2010 17:51

Hello Susan, I have been to a few meets, organised by FTF, but essentially the same people as on here. I went to a very large one at Matlock, so met lot's of people. it is nice to meet up in real life and I have made some good friends by going. I would love to meet our Aussie friends, hopefully if sue comes over next year, i can meet her because i live very close to where here OH comes from

Hello CC, I have been to Beamish lot's of times, I used to live close to it when it first opened,so remember it from it's early years. I have taken many school groups there as well as going on my own accord. I didn't go last summer,so am overdue a visit

I love Cragside CC, all the Morris wallpaper is fantastic. the history of the electricity also appeals to my scientific nature.
i was at Alnwick Gardens last summer as well. My ancestors come from Northumberland as well,so I have done lots of research there. I need to go back to the records office at Woodhorn again soon.
